Profession Planner (ProfPlanner)
Beta for WoW: Forever. ProfPlanner works out the cheapest way to level your crafting profession from where you are now: what to craft, how many, what you already have, what you still need to buy, and where your trainers are.
Features
- Current Step: the recipe to make now, how many crafts, and the materials in your bags, bank and still to buy.
- Route: the whole plan to 75, 150 or 225, step by step, with the cost of each step and how far your gold gets you.
- Shopping List: everything to buy for your target, with the parts your profession makes itself (bolts, stones, powders) worked out for you.
- Recipes: known, learnable and unknown recipes, and where to learn each one.
- Trainers: the closest trainers who can teach you, with a map pin and on-screen arrow to guide you there.
- Ready to train: tells you when you can learn something new, and who can teach it.
- Plans the whole route at once, so it stockpiles materials (like bolts of cloth) when that's cheaper.
Supports First Aid, Cooking, Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Tailoring, Leatherworking, Engineering and Enchanting.
This is a beta, and you can help
ProfPlanner plans from data players record, not from a fixed guide. Where nobody has recorded recipes for a skill range yet, the Route tab says no data yet. Everything you do with the addon installed makes the plans better for everyone:
- Level your profession with the window open. Every skill point records when your recipes turn yellow, green and grey, which is the data the planner needs most. One quick look at the window only records the colors at your current skill, so the more you level with it open, the better.
- Open trainers' training windows, including higher-rank trainers, and talk to trainers to record where they stand. A few trainers haven't been found yet!
- Then click Share data and paste the text into the submission page it shows. No account needed. Share again after each leveling session; your newest share replaces the older ones.
Shared data is merged into each new version.
What's shared: recipes and their skill ranges, what trainers teach, where trainers and vendors stand, vendor prices, your faction, and a random code that links your shares together. What's not: your items, gold, character names, realm, or which recipes your characters know.
Prices
Vendor prices are recorded automatically. For auction house prices, install Auctionator (optional) and scan the auction house now and then. Without it, many materials show "?".
Commands
Type /profplan to open the planner, or /profplan help for all commands.
Known limitations
- Recipes nobody has crafted yet are planned cautiously, so their craft counts and costs start high and improve as colors are recorded.
- Skill ranges with no recorded recipes show as "no data yet".
- 225 is the beta's skill cap.
