## [2.10.1] - 2026-08-21
- Fixed disenchant, prospect and mill not casting at all. This was introduced in 2.10.0: a change made to fix right-clicking items in your bags got applied to the destroy buttons as well, and those cast a real spell rather than using an item, which that change breaks. It should not have been applied there without being tested first, and it has been undone.
- The destroy list no longer offers a disenchant value for gear the game will not actually let you disenchant. If it cannot tell yet, usually because the item has not finished loading, it still shows the item rather than hiding something you could have disenchanted.
## [2.10.0] - 2026-08-18
- Right-clicking an item in your bags to use or open it works again. This had quietly been doing nothing at all for every bag slot - clams, lockboxes, potions, your hearthstone - because of a change in how the game delivers clicks to buttons that perform real actions. The same problem was stopping the disenchant, prospect and mill buttons from casting, so those work again too.
- The Sell tab now shows what an item last went for on the auction house, and how long ago, right next to Undercut lowest. A new button prices your listing at that figure in one click. Undercut lowest can only work from what is listed at this moment, which on a quiet realm is often one odd listing or nothing at all, so the last price the market actually paid is usually the better starting point. Hovering the button also tells you what you last sold one for, if you have sold one.
- Fixed a blank, nameless item creeping into your saved prices. Auctions whose item the game had not finished loading were all being filed under one empty name, pooling their prices together into an item that does not exist. New scans no longer do this, and the bad entry is cleaned up automatically the next time you log in.
- Fixed the disenchant value disagreeing between the bags window and the auction house window. For gear between item level 51 and 59 the two were working from different materials entirely, so the same green could show two different values depending on where you looked. Both now use the correct brackets, and item level 64 to 70 gear is valued properly on the auction house side, which had been missing that range.
- The deal and sniper lists look and behave like proper tables now. They have a border, alternating row shading, and a scrollbar so you can see how much is below the fold. Long item names no longer wrap onto a second line and overlap the row underneath, and the Buy button lines up in its own column on the right.
- Fixed controls overlapping each other along the top of the Sniper tab, and the deal counter drawing on top of the Mode button while a scan was running. The filter rows now space themselves from the text next to them rather than sitting at fixed positions, so they stay clear of each other at any window size.
## [2.9.3] - 2026-08-09
- There is a way back from the Blizzard auction house now. Switching to it with the Classic UI button left no visible route to return on Retail, so ProfitProphet appeared to vanish for the rest of the visit. It now tells you how to come back when you switch, and the new /ppah command brings it straight back without closing the auction house.
- Buy Mats works on Retail. The button quietly did nothing at all - it did not even explain itself - because that hand-off had never been built for Retail. It now opens the auction house window and searches for the material.
- Posting an item no longer leaves the Sell tab showing stock you already sold. It kept the quantity from before the post, so it offered to post items you no longer had and the next Post click failed. It now updates to what is really left, or clears the slot if you posted all of it.
- Item tooltips no longer show one quality tier's price as if it were another's. Items that come in several tiers share a single name, and when the exact tier had not been scanned the tooltip showed a different tier's price with no indication. It now marks that price as belonging to another tier.
## [2.9.2] - 2026-08-05
- A full scan that swept the whole auction house no longer reports itself as stopped. It was judging success by how many item names your game client had finished loading, not by whether the scan actually finished, so on a large realm a completely successful scan announced "stopped - partial - rescan for the rest" and told you to run it again. Running it again never helped, because the missing part is names filling in quietly in the background. Those items were also described as "skipped" when their prices had in fact been saved all along.
- The Craft tab's recipe list scrolls with the mouse wheel. The rows sit on top of the list and were swallowing the scroll before it reached it, so the list never moved past its first screenful.
- The Sell tab no longer tells you that you would be the cheapest when it failed to check. If the auction house was too busy to answer in time, the empty result was treated as "nothing else is listed" and fed straight into your suggested price. It now says the check did not complete and asks you to try again.
- Vendor sell prices are now matched to the exact item. For items that come in several quality tiers, all of which share one name, the vendor price was looked up by name and could come back for a different tier than the auction price it was being compared against - which could show a loss as a profit. Any vendor prices already saved from before this fix are cleared out, since they cannot be trusted.
## [2.9.1] - 2026-07-28
- Fixed Retail time left showing "< 30m" on every one of your auctions. Retail reports how long an auction has left in seconds, and ProfitProphet was reading a field the auction house doesn't fill in for your own auctions - so everything looked like it was about to expire. Your auctions now show the real remaining time, and the same fix restores the TIME LEFT column on the Dashboard and the "listings expiring soon" advisor, both of which had been blank on Retail.
- Auction house listings now show the right time left too. Every listing was being reported one band short - a listing with under 48 hours left displayed as 8 hours, and "24h+" could never appear at all.
- Fixed undercut detection missing real undercuts on Retail. Three things were wrong: the competing price was looked up once and then never refreshed for the rest of your session, so somebody undercutting you minutes later went unnoticed; the cheapest competitor was read off the first row the server returned, which for stackable items is sorted by total price rather than price per item, so a single expensive item could hide a genuinely cheaper stack; and your own auctions counted as competition against yourself.
- Undercut now tells you by how much. Instead of just "Undercut", the row shows the gap you would need to beat.
- ProfitProphet no longer claims you are "Winning" when it has not actually checked. If there is no live price for an item it says so, rather than showing a green Winning it cannot back up.
- Full scans no longer look frozen. The progress counter only counted items your game client could already name, so on a fresh install or a new realm the number and the bar sat still for minutes while the scan was in fact working normally. It now shows how much of the market has been swept alongside how much has been priced.
## [2.9.0] - 2026-07-26
- Full Scan no longer reports "partial - rescan for the rest" after a scan that actually swept the whole auction house. It was counting items left over from previous scans against the current one, so on a busy realm it could never report a complete scan no matter how well it ran. Leftovers are now reported separately, as items still filling in quietly in the background.
- Items the game had not finished loading are no longer stuck as "skipped" forever. ProfitProphet already knew the names of most of them from earlier scans, but was not using that, so on a large realm the same tens of thousands of items were reported as skipped after every single scan. It now uses what it already knows, and the number actually goes down.
- Background name filling now works through your whole backlog instead of repeatedly going over the same first few hundred items. On a big auction house this is the difference between the count moving and the count sitting still.
- Fixed game performance degrading after a full scan until you reloaded or logged out. While filling in item names in the background, ProfitProphet was rebuilding its entire market view every couple of seconds, including while its window was closed and nothing was on screen to update.
- Fixed the dashboard stuttering during a scan. It was rebuilding every tracked item's numbers each time a batch of prices came in, many times per scan.
- Fixed a full scan occasionally being lost entirely. Background work could interrupt a scan while it was still saving, so the scan reported success while the prices were quietly discarded.
- New: type /ppexport to share a scan with the web companion at wowprofitprophet.com. It opens a box you can copy and paste on the site. There is also a button for it on the Wisdom tab. Entirely optional - the addon works exactly the same either way.
## [2.8.9] - 2026-07-25
- Fixed crafting costs, profits and margins being wrong or missing on both Retail and Classic. The craft engine was reading its recipe list from the wrong place and failing outright, which quietly took the craft tree and every craft cost, profit and ROI number down with it. All 366 craftable items now price correctly.
- Fixed the Recipe Book on Classic, where clicking did nothing at all - you could not expand a profession, add a recipe, or remove one. The rows were not accepting clicks.
- Fixed the collapse arrows in the Recipe Book and the Groups tab rendering as empty boxes instead of arrows, so sections looked broken rather than closed. The same fix applies to the "incoming" line in the Ledger.
- The Craft tab's recipe list scrolls now. It never had a scrollbar, so anything past the bottom of the window was simply unreachable - which could happen with a single busy profession like Cooking, long before you tracked several.
- New "All professions" option on the Craft tab, so you can see every recipe you have added at once instead of one profession at a time. The old "pick a profession" entry is gone, since it only ever meant "show nothing".
- Big auction houses fill in faster. After a scan, ProfitProphet now keeps working in the background to name the items it could not identify yet, instead of waiting for you to run another scan. On a large realm the market fills itself in over a couple of minutes.
- Prices show up sooner on a fresh install or a new realm. Items the game has not finished loading names for are now still priced from the scan, so deals, the sniper and tooltips work on your first scan instead of after the game catches up.
- Fixed a long status message in My Auctions running underneath the Cancel button.
- Added a /ppdebug command that reports how many items are priced and how many are still waiting to be named - useful when reporting a scan problem.
## [2.8.8] - 2026-07-25
- Fixed an error that spammed on Retail every time you opened the Auction House. The Sell tab's check for account-bound items was calling a game function the wrong way and throwing dozens of Lua errors on each visit. It now checks safely.
- Retail full scans on very large realms now build up the market over a few scans instead of dropping most of it every time. On a big realm with a cold item cache (a fresh character or a bank alt), the game can't tell the addon the names of tens of thousands of items in a single scan, so those items' prices were being thrown away - you'd see "40,000 items skipped" and the addon never filled in. Now those items are remembered between scans and resolved as the game catches up, so each scan prices more of the market until it's complete. If you're on a huge realm, run a full scan a few times.
- A completed full scan now counts as done even when the game is still loading item names in the background, so scan-based features work instead of the Options tab showing "full scan: never" forever.
- The Farming tab is rebuilt. It now opens with a "farm this now" recommendation - the single best thing to go gather right now at current prices - and ranks specific routes by zone (Mining in Nagrand vs Hellfire, Herbing in Zangarmarsh, and so on) instead of one generic line per profession. Useful from the first time you open it, before you've farmed anything.
- Fixed overlapping hint text at the top of the Watchlist tab.
- Added a /ppdebug command that reports scan diagnostics (how many items are priced, how big the pending-resolution backlog is, and when the last full scan ran).
## [2.8.7] - 2026-07-24
- Full scans no longer freeze the game on very large realms. On a realm with well over a hundred thousand auctions the scan was building a throwaway item link for every single listing, which flooded memory and locked the client up. It now only does that work for items it hasn't seen before, and the page limit was raised so the biggest realms can finish a full sweep instead of stopping partway.
- Fixed the Sniper tab header, where the status line could run underneath the Mode and Start Sniper buttons and the filter fields didn't line up.
- Retail now has a proper Crafting window. It lists everything you can actually make, ranked by profit, scoped by default to the professions you know, with a search box and a "profitable only" filter. Pick a recipe, set a quantity and queue it, then craft it with Craft Next at your profession window. Retail previously had no craft window at all.
- The auction house header is less cramped. The Ledger and Classic UI buttons moved up beside the title, so the tabs are no longer squeezed against them.
- Fixed price history being wiped after a break from the game. Old, untracked items are cleared out to keep the saved data small, but that clean-up measured age against today's date - so if you didn't play for a month, it deleted your history the next time you logged in, and could even drop a whole realm's data after three months. Current prices were left behind, which is why an item could show a price next to "No scans yet", an empty range and a blank heatmap. Age is now measured against your own last scan, so time away costs you nothing. Note this cannot bring back history already lost - run a full scan and it will rebuild from there.
- The Craft tab now starts empty and asks you to pick a profession, then lists only that profession's recipes. It used to open with every recipe from every profession at once, which buried the ones you actually cared about.
- Fixed overlapping text on the Craft tab, where the hint under the title could run straight through the MAT COST / PROFIT / MARGIN / SELLS headings.
- Warbound and other account-bound items no longer show up as sellable in the Sell tab. Only soulbound items were being filtered out before, so Warbound gear looked auctionable and only failed once you tried to post it.
- The Craft window's recipe list scrolls with the mouse wheel again on Classic. The rows themselves were swallowing the scroll.
## [2.8.5] - 2026-07-19
- The craft tree (/pptree) now answers "what's worth crafting?" at a glance. The left recipe list is ranked by profit with the best crafts on top, each row shows its margin coloured green (good), amber (thin) or red (loss), and items with no price data yet drop to the bottom - so you can read the list instead of clicking every recipe. It also opens scoped to the professions your character actually knows, with "All" and each individual profession still one click away in the dropdown.
## [2.8.4] - 2026-07-18
- Full scans are much more reliable on high-population realms. On a very busy auction house the game can take a while to hand back each page of results, and the scan used to give up on the whole-market pass the first time a page was slow - so on big realms the full scan would never finish with complete data and anything that relies on it (deals, valuations, undercut checks) came up short. The scan now waits out and retries a slow page several times before moving on, so a busy realm just takes a little longer instead of failing.
## [2.8.3] - 2026-07-18
- Fixed a Retail bug where the Sell tab would stay stuck on "Scanning..." with no listings for certain items - most often crafting reagents and other quality-tier items - even though it worked fine for others. The competition scan was looking the item up by name and only trusting an exact match once WoW had cached that item's info, so the first time you sold something new this session it could come back empty. The Sell tab now looks up the exact item you staged directly, so scanning works the first time, every time.
