Profession Tooltip

All your professions. One tooltip.

Profession Tooltip is the successor of Cooking Tooltip and Alchemy Tooltip. Instead of one addon per profession, it detects which professions your character has and shows the matching recipes for every ingredient, from Alchemy to Tailoring.

Every bag slot counts. Is that stack of Light Leather, Copper Bar or Peacebloom worth keeping, or should it go to the Auction House? Hover over it and you know.

Key Features

• All professions: Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Engineering, Leatherworking, Tailoring, Mining (smelting), Cooking, First Aid, plus the new camp recipes of Herbalism, Skinning and Fishing. More than 2,200 recipes in total.
• Your professions first: Only the professions your character has are listed in detail. Other professions show up as a small icon, so you still see at a glance that an item is worth selling.
• Known or not:
  • Recipes you know are shown in their difficulty color (orange, yellow, green, gray), and the color updates live as you skill up.
  • Unknown recipes are shown in gray with the required skill level. It turns red if your skill is still too low.
• Quantity: See how many of the item a recipe needs, e.g. ×4.
• No setup needed: Learned recipes are detected automatically. Open each profession window once for the most accurate result.
• Clean and fast: Long lists are shortened; hold Shift to see everything. Tooltip lines are cached, so there is no lag in your bags.

Optional Extras

Everything below is off by default and can be enabled in the settings:

• Alts: See which of your characters already know a recipe or could learn it.
• Recipe items: "Recipe: …" items tell you whether you know them, can learn them, or need more skill.
• Crafted items: See which recipe makes an item and which reagents it needs.
• Stock: "enough for 3": how often you can craft with what's in your bags and bank.
• Auction value: Price of the crafted item via Auctionator.
• Filters: Show all unknown recipes, only those you can learn now, or hide those that would already be gray.

Settings

Open them with /pt, the minimap button or Options → AddOns. A live preview shows every change instantly.

• Tooltip: recipe list, skill level, sections for known/unknown, max. recipes per profession, filters, Shift behavior
• Design: icon and/or name, your skill (e.g. 70/150), known count (e.g. 16/82 known), spacing, hints
• Professions: only your professions, icons of other professions, toggle single professions
• Extras: alts, recipe items, crafted items, stock, auction value
• General: minimap button, scan data, import from Cooking/Alchemy Tooltip

Coming from Cooking Tooltip or Alchemy Tooltip?

Profession Tooltip detects the old addons and offers to take over your settings and disable them, so nothing shows up twice.

Data: Recipes, reagents and difficulty levels are extracted from the WoW: Forever game files and shipped with the addon. New recipes from game patches arrive with addon updates.
