ProfanityLib v3
What's new
V3 — 2026-09-09
- Accented letters no longer hide a slur. Accented letters used to be
dropped before matching, so
Nïggerbecamenggerand passed the filter. Accents are the most common way to sneak a slur past a name filter. Latin accented letters are now mapped to their plain form (ï→i,ñ→n,ø→o,æ→ae,ß→ss, …) before the usual leetspeak folding, soNïggér,Fàggot,HitlérandRêtardedare caught. Other scripts such as Cyrillic are unaffected. - Ships with ProfanityLibData V3, which was re-checked against the current death databases under the new matching; see its changelog.
