Description

ProcGlow is a World of Warcraft Forever addon that lights up your action buttons when a proc or reactive ability becomes usable or your buffs are falling off.

  • Glows: abilities like Overpower, Revenge, Execute and Victory Rush glow on your action bar the moment they proc. The default is Blizzard’s own proc-glow look. Untick that to build your own glow with colour, fill, layers and pulse.
  • Countdowns: a timer on the glowing button shows how long you have left to use the proc.
  • Stacks: a stack counter on the glowing button shows how many stacks you have if the proc is stackable (fingers of frost).
  • Personal Class Buff Tracking: it warns you when your class specific buffs are missing or about to run out on yourself. and this works in combat.
  • Paladin Blessings/Auras: pick the blessing or aura you want tracked, and it warns you when it's missing or about to run out. If you cast a different one, say Wisdom instead of Might, it automatically switches to tracking that one. It returns to your chosen blessing or aura after you've gone without any for a set time (default 2 minutes, adjustable). So you don't have to keep changing settings when another Paladin buffs you or you need a different blessing for a while. It also works in combat.
  • Text alerts: optional on-screen text such as “Battle Shout Missing”. You choose the font, colours, outline, border, background, animation (throb, pulse, shake) and position.
  • Per-ability settings: each ability can have its own text, timer position, colour, font and animations. These override the global defaults.
  • Alternate abilities: Warriors and Druids can have a proc also glow on a different ability, depending on stance. So for example if you are in berserker stance you can either place overpower on your bars in berseker stance, or select an ability on your berserker stance bar that you would like to have glow to show you that you have an overpower proc while in a different stance.
  • Class Procs page: each class has its own list of abilities you can switch on or off, and you can add your own from a searchable list. Not all classes have procs avaliable to them, but you can add your buffs, if you just want text on your screen and a button glow to tell you its falling off.
  • Setup: type /pg or click the minimap button. A short “getting started” guide sits on the first settings page, and a reset button restores the defaults.

I've tested ProcGlow in a limited way, and everything I've tried so far works as intended. I'll be using it myself going forward. I built this addon with the help of AI, mainly for my own use. I mostly play Warrior, and my Warrior on the Beta is only level 20, so there's a limit to what I can test. Hunter and Rogue have now also been tested and confirmed working.

I'm still looking for Mage and Shaman players to help check that their class procs are working correctly. If you play one of these classes and can try it out, please leave a comment with what you find, whether it works or not.

I'm sharing it because I couldn't find anything like it for WoW Forever, and if it was frustrating for me, it may be for others too. If you run into any issues, please leave a comment so I can look into them. I'll update the addon as I find and fix problems, and you're welcome to modify it yourself if you know how.
