Prey Hunt Bar

Prey Hunt Bar is a standalone addon for World of Warcraft Retail that replaces Blizzard’s default Prey Hunt widget with a cleaner, easier-to-read custom bar.

Originally developed as part of LootCompass and later expanded into its own standalone addon, it is built specifically for current Prey Hunt content and supports Normal, Hard, and Nightmare hunts. The addon focuses on presenting the important information clearly without adding unnecessary clutter.

What it does

Prey Hunt Bar shows your current hunt state in a compact custom bar, along with the active boss, difficulty, affixes, warning states, and final hunt location support.

It is designed for players who want a cleaner alternative to Blizzard’s default widget while keeping the addon lightweight and focused.

Difficulty support

Prey Hunt Bar supports all current hunt difficulties:

The bar updates the shown boss and affix information based on the active hunt.

Warning and affix support

The addon includes support for important warning states during a hunt.

This includes:

• Affix icon display
• Affix tooltips for quick reference
• Ambush warning text and glow
• Extra warning text for key hunt mechanics

The goal is to keep warning information readable without overloading the bar.

Waypoint support

Prey Hunt Bar can help with navigation during the final hunt phase.

Features include:

• Optional location button on the bar
• Optional automatic waypoint placement when the hunt reaches Ready

This makes it easier to move directly to the final confrontation.

You can customize the bar through the standalone settings window.

It is designed to stay lightweight and performance-conscious while still supporting the key hunt states and display options needed during active content.

• If you prefer Blizzard’s default hunt widget, you can leave Blizzard UI suppression disabled

Installation / usage

1. Install the addon.
2. Log into World of Warcraft Retail.
3. Open the settings from the minimap button or with: /phb or /preyhuntbar
4. Adjust the bar options as needed.
5. Enter a Prey Hunt and the bar will activate automatically.
