PrestigeScanner

Discover noteworthy players, learn the stories behind prestigious World of Warcraft titles, and chronicle remarkable encounters across Azeroth.

PrestigeScanner is a World of Warcraft addon built around one simple idea: when you encounter a player carrying a genuinely noteworthy title, that moment should mean something.

PrestigeScanner watches for a curated collection of prestigious, historic, difficult, rare, and otherwise remarkable titles worn by players around you. When a qualifying player is discovered, the addon presents a polished notification showing who you encountered, what title they carry, and why that title is significant.

Rather than treating every title as equally important, PrestigeScanner focuses on titles with a story behind them. These include accomplishments tied to difficult content, competitive achievements, historic events, limited-time rewards, exceptional distinctions, and memorable eras of World of Warcraft.

Features

• Prestige Detection: Automatically recognizes curated prestigious titles on nearby players.
• Polished Discovery Cards: See the player's name, realm, title, rarity, class, and distinction at a glance.
• Why It Matters: Learn how a title was earned and why it is noteworthy.
• Multiple Alert Profiles: Choose how selective PrestigeScanner should be, from only exceptional accomplishments to the full tracked catalogue.
• Sightings Journal: Automatically records prestigious players you encounter, including where and when you saw them.
• Prestige Encyclopedia: Browse researched titles, their history, acquisition method, era, status, and significance.
• First Discoveries: Tracks new titles and prestigious players encountered across your account.
• Prestige Milestones: Earn account-wide milestones for discovering legends, exploring historic locations, and encountering unusual combinations of accomplishments.
• Places of Legend: Special milestones recognize meaningful prestige encounters at iconic locations throughout Azeroth.

• Prestige Identity: An optional addon-to-addon identity system that can display an earned PrestigeScanner title when compatible users meet.
• Minimap Launcher and Hub: Quick access to your Journal, Encyclopedia, Milestones, settings, scanner status, and more.

Alert Profiles

PrestigeScanner can be as selective as you want.

Exceptional: Recommended

Reserved for the rarest and most remarkable distinctions, including Realm First or World First style accomplishments, Hall of Fame achievements, Rank 1 distinctions, and a carefully selected collection of exceptional legacy titles.

Legendary

Includes all titles classified as Legendary.

Expanded

Includes both Epic and Legendary prestige titles.

All Tracked

Shows every title currently eligible for live detection.

The default Exceptional profile is designed to keep discoveries meaningful without overwhelming busy cities and social areas.

Sightings Journal

Your Sightings Journal creates an account-wide record of the remarkable players you encounter.

Entries can include:

• Player and realm
• Prestige title
• Rarity and category
• Location
• First encounter
• Most recent encounter
• Number of sightings
• The character you were playing when the encounter occurred

Journal entries can also be opened directly in the Prestige Encyclopedia for additional background.

Prestige Encyclopedia

PrestigeScanner includes a curated reference library covering noteworthy titles from throughout World of Warcraft's history.

The current catalogue contains more than 200 researched title entries covering competitive achievements, raids, dungeons, PvP, historic events, seasonal accomplishments, legacy rewards, and other significant parts of WoW history.

Some titles are actively detected while others are preserved as historical reference entries when the title alone cannot reliably establish how or when it was originally earned.

This allows the Encyclopedia to preserve interesting World of Warcraft history without turning every historically notable title into an alert.

Prestige Milestones

PrestigeScanner includes an account-wide milestone system built around exploration and discovery.

Milestones recognize accomplishments such as:

• Discovering prestigious titles
• Encountering legendary players
• Expanding your historical catalogue
• Finding prestige at iconic locations
• Witnessing unusual combinations of achievements

Some milestones are hidden. Their requirements are revealed only after you complete them.

Places of Legend

Some locations in Azeroth carry as much history as the players who visit them.

Places of Legend recognizes qualifying prestige encounters at iconic locations throughout World of Warcraft.

Simply visiting the location is not enough. A qualifying prestige encounter must actually occur there.

Prestige Identity

Prestige Identity is an optional feature that allows compatible PrestigeScanner users to see an identity title earned through milestone progression.

Identity sharing is disabled by default.

When enabled, PrestigeScanner shares only the small amount of information necessary to identify the earned Prestige Identity rank.

PrestigeScanner does not share your:

• Sightings Journal
• Exact milestone totals
• Discovery history
• Character history
• Location history

PrestigeScanner does not require an external account, website database, or online tracking service.

Designed to Stay Out of the Way

PrestigeScanner is intended to complement normal gameplay rather than dominate the user interface.

The recommended alert profile is deliberately selective, and detection is focused on gameplay situations where prestige encounters make sense.

Large raids and instanced PvP environments are intentionally excluded from normal scanning to prevent unnecessary notification clutter.

Friendly player nameplates are used to improve passive nearby-player detection.

After installation, the PrestigeScanner minimap shield provides quick access to the main Hub.
