PrepTalk
Boss tactics for your role in plain words, sent to your group chat in one click.
Overlay: Knows your role and the next boss, displays tactics just for you.
PrepTalk Panel: Pick a boss, pick your role, and read what to do.
Two versions of every boss:
Detailed (ability names and timings, the default) and Simple (short, plain words)
With a [Simple | Detailed] toggle switch in the window and on the overlay. Press Send to Group and the lines go to party, raid or instance chat, one per message:
PrepTalk is for the pug that has never seen the dungeon. It is not a boss mod: no timers, no warnings, nothing goes off during the fight. It tells people what to do before the pull.
Beta
This is a beta. The Detailed text is written from the in-game Encounter Journal's own ability text and checked against it. The Simple text puts the same thing in short plain words, and a simplified line can miss a detail. If one reads wrong for your group, edit it with the quill and send your version: your edits are kept and used from then on.
Coverage right now:
All Dungeons No Raids Yet
How it works
The window (/pt or a keybinding): a search box, a boss bar, a difficulty dropdown, three role icons, the text, and Send. Inside a dungeon the boss bar lists that dungeon's bosses and follows the run: it opens on the next boss you have not killed and moves on when that boss dies. Outside, it is a short menu: expansion, dungeon, boss.
Difficulty: the window follows the difficulty you are on (Mythic+ counts as Mythic). Pick another difficulty in the dropdown to read its version; it snaps back when you change dungeon or difficulty. Lines that only apply on Mythic only show on Mythic.
Request mode: anyone in your group can type ?boss in chat, or ?boss healer, ?boss <boss name>, and PrepTalk answers with the Simple tactics for their role, in the chat they asked in, for the difficulty you are actually playing. It waits a second or two and stays quiet if another PrepTalk user answers first, never repeats the same boss and role within 20 seconds, and leaves at least 10 seconds between any two answers. /pt request ask makes it ask you first; /pt request off turns it off.
Overlay: a small panel with your role's tactics for the boss you are about to fight, shown automatically inside dungeons and hidden once every boss is dead. Drag it, resize it, collapse it with the bar along the bottom, click the Simple | Detailed switch to change the level, /pt overlay lock to make it click-through.
Editing: the quill icon lets you rewrite any role's text for yourself; the note icon copies it. Edits are kept per role, per level and per difficulty.

Limits set by the game
- Since patch 12.0 addons cannot send chat during a boss encounter, at any time inside a Mythic+ dungeon, or in PvP matches. Send before the pull.
- While chat is locked, the Send button becomes Put in chat: each click puts the next line in your chat box, and you press Enter to post it.
