PLG Academy (Classic) Changelog

PLG Academy is an interactive Lua course for World of Warcraft. You learn addon basics right in the game, step by step, without any risk: the addon never runs your own Lua code.

Lessons and modes

• 30 lessons from "Hello World" to events, frames and bag queries, with hints and a check for every answer.
• Developer Mode with event tracker, table snapshot, slash and snippet templates, UI designer, benchmark, Ace3 suggestions, API lexicon and macro draft.
• Sandbox: a safe practice editor with a small, limited command language (print, emote, read).
• Learning Lab: simulated boss fight, Scratch blocks, local guild tasks (export and import as text), daily challenge and Visual Debugging.
• Academy assistant: a local hint after three wrong answers.

Rewards and collection

• Daily challenges unlock cosmetic rewards:
  • Designs with effects: Dark Iron (embers), Gnomeregan Tech (rotating gears, quiet ticking), Scourge (frost corners), Glitch Mode (flicker and code rain).
  • 3D companions in the window header: Gnome robot, Baby murloc, Dragon whelp, Mini Ragnaros. They dance on success and shake their head on mistakes.
  • Text effects: Typewriter (sparks while typing), Rainbow code.
• Sound packs: Level up, Murloc gurgle, Sci-fi, Off.
• Learning Lab → Collection switches design, sound, companion and text effect.
• Ranks in Developer Mode: Newcomer, Lua Apprentice (1), Script Journeyman (10), Gnomeregan Chief Engineer (50), Architect of the Matrix (100 daily challenges).
• Optional guild chat post when you reach a new rank. It is off by default.

Versions and languages

• Made for all Classic clients: Classic Era / Anniversary, Burning Crusade Classic, Wrath Classic, Wrath: Titan Reforged, Cataclysm Classic and Mists Classic.
• English and German (the language follows your WoW client).
• PLG design in the style of PLG Market.
• New addon logo.

• /plgacademy or /plgakademie opens the window.
