Description

Pixie: A Swiss Army Knife for Classic WoW

Pixie is a compact activity tracker and utility dashboard that remembers what your characters do.

Pixie provides a compact overview of:

  • Experience and XP/hour
  • Kills and loot
  • Top-10 combat and XP records
  • Money earned and spent
  • Quests
  • Bag space
  • Online friends
  • Gold
  • Coordinates
  • Target and assist controls

Experience tracking

Pixie tracks total and live experience from:

  • Kills
  • Quests
  • Exploration
  • Other sources
  • Rested bonuses

The main Pixie window can show your current XP/hour, time to the next level, estimated level-up time, time to maximum level, or level progress per hour.

Live XP/hour uses a configurable rolling window. Inactive periods gradually leave the calculation, giving you a useful picture of your recent leveling performance instead of a lifetime average distorted by idle time.

Tracking kills, loot, and gathering

Pixie tracks how many mobs you have killed, what loot you have collected, where items came from, and your recent activity across different time periods.

That can help answer the good old question:

"How many mobs did I have to kill to get this drop?"

Pixie understands many different acquisition sources, including:

  • Ordinary mob loot
  • Fishing and fishing schools
  • Mining and herbalism
  • Skinning
  • Crafting
  • Trades
  • Mail and auctions
  • Opened containers

Known ores, herbs, leather, fish, enchanting materials, and related items can be sorted by quality and progression.

Statistics can be viewed account-wide, faction-wide, or for an individual character.

Tracking Top-10 records

Pixie keeps Top-10 lists for:

  • Damage from single hits
  • Healing from single actions
  • Damage and healing across full battles
  • Damage and healing done or received
  • Lowest health reached during battles
  • Experience earned from individual mobs

Hunter and warlock pet damage can count toward their owner's records, while still identifying the pet responsible.

Top-10 ranks can be viewed for individual characters, factions, the entire account, and specific character levels. Configurable chat messages can announce meaningful new records.

Lowest health is also tracked, if you live to tell the tale :-)

Tracking money and economy

Pixie tracks money earned and spent through gameplay, mail, auctions, repairs, trades, and other activity.

Graphs and detailed tables can show activity from this session, today, this week, this month, and over longer periods.

Money statistics can be viewed account-wide, faction-wide, or for an individual character.

Target and assist

Pixie can quickly target mobs, assist other players, or save your current target.

This is especially handy when looking for mobs of a specific type, including useful mobs that are not official rares.

Target, assist, and set-target controls can all use configurable keys.

How Pixie fits with other addons

Pixie is not intended to replace specialized addons.

  • Details! provides deep combat analysis. Pixie remembers personal Top-10 records across characters, levels, and sessions.
  • Questie and RestedXP help you complete or route quests. Pixie tracks the experience and activity that result.
  • Auctionator and TradeSkillMaster manage auctions and the economy. Pixie records your broader item and money history.
  • GatherMate2 maps gathering nodes. Pixie tracks what you gathered and where the resulting items came from.
  • Titan Panel and similar dashboards display current information. Pixie combines a compact overview with historical statistics and detailed drill-down views.

Pixie fills some of the spaces between these tools. Its purpose is to provide one connected history of your characters without trying to become a complete replacement for every specialized addon.

What Pixie is, and what it is not

Pixie is a personal activity tracker, historical statistics tool, and collection of everyday utilities.

It is not a full damage meter, auction-house suite, quest guide, leveling route, or gathering map. Pixie is designed to complement those tools by recording what actually happened to your characters and making that history useful.

Its feature set has grown, but the interface is still designed to remain compact and out of the way. Most information stays inside the main statistics window until you ask for it.

Pixie background

I did not originally create this addon for other people. When I shared it, they seemed to agree that it landed right in the top three of all their addons, which is exactly how it feels for me too.

Pixie has grown from a small personal utility into something closer to a Swiss Army knife for Classic WoW. It is still practical, personal, and designed to stay out of the way.

I hope you enjoy this nifty little thing.
