Pirates Plunder is a lightweight raid loot management addon based on a modified version of the SK loot system. It was developed for guild raid environments with the goal of providing a simple, fair, and efficient way to distribute loot without complex setup or heavy configuration.
The addon uses a priority-based scoring system to ensure that loot distribution remains balanced across the raid. Players who have received less loot naturally gain higher priority over time, helping ensure that items are spread fairly among the group while still allowing upgrades to be awarded quickly during raids.
How the System Works
Pirates Plunder maintains a priority list of players in your roster. Players gain points over time during raids, increasing their position in the list and improving their chances of winning future loot.
- Each boss kill during an active raid adds 1 point to every player in the group.
- Players with higher scores have higher priority when rolling on items.
- When a player wins loot, their score is adjusted depending on the type of roll they used.
This system ensures that players who have not received loot recently gradually move up in priority, while players who win items move down the list. This creates a self-balancing distribution system that rewards attendance and patience while preventing loot concentration on a small number of players.
New players added to the roster can also catch up quickly, preventing them from being permanently behind long-time raiders.
Loot Roll Types
When the raid leader posts an item, players can respond with one of the following options:
Need
For major upgrades or best-in-slot items. Winning a Need roll resets the player’s score to 0 points, placing them at the bottom of the priority list.
Minor
For smaller upgrades. Winning a Minor roll places the player just below the next lowest player in the priority list instead of fully resetting their score.
Xmog
For cosmetic or transmog items. Winning an Xmog roll removes 1 point from the player.
Pass
The player declines the item.
The Minor roll option is a newer addition to the system. Originally, all loot awards reset a player’s score to zero, but Minor rolls allow smaller upgrades without completely sacrificing priority.

These features help raid leaders distribute items quickly while giving players a transparent and fair loot system that rewards participation.
Trade Assistance
When a player is awarded an item:
- The item is added to a Pending Trades list
- When that player opens a trade with you, the addon will attempt to automatically place the item into the trade window
This helps speed up loot distribution and reduces the chance of mistakes during busy raid moments.
Roster and Raid Management
Raid leaders can create and manage a roster of players within the addon.
When starting a raid:
- A starting score can be randomized across the roster to avoid ties
- Players will begin accumulating points as bosses are killed
- If the raid leader leaves the group, the raid automatically ends
This keeps the system simple and prevents scoring errors if the raid disbands.
Commands
/pp
Opens the main Pirates Plunder window. A raid must be started from the Raid tab for the addon to function.
/pploot or /ppl
Opens the loot window where raid leaders can:
- Post items for rolls
- Track player responses
- Award items
- View the pending trades list
Adding Items to the Loot List
Items can be added to the loot posting list in two ways:
- Alt + Right Click an item to add it instantly
- Shift Click an item while your cursor is in the addon’s item input box
This allows raid leaders to quickly queue multiple items for posting during loot distribution.
