Pet Status — Never Fight Without Your Pet Again

Pet Status gives you a clear, in-your-face reminder when you enter combat without an active pet. It pairs a movable on-screen button and flashing visual alert with optional sound and chat cues—so you notice quickly and get your pet back in the fight before it all goes sideways (your damage that is…the rest of the team should be fine, right?).

Highlights

• Smart icon: shows your actual pet portrait when active; falls back to class-appropriate icons (Hunter/Warlock/DK) when not.
• Visual alert: button turns red and can flash while your pet is missing in combat.
• Sound alert: pick from handy presets (Ready Check, Raid Warning, Battle.net Toast, Epic Loot, Pet Battle Ready, Bell Tolls) or enter any soundKitID. Choose output channel (Master/SFX/Dialog/Music/Ambience).
• Text chat alert: optional colored message in chat when you’re missing a pet.
• One-click control: left-click to enable/disable; right-click for a quick menu (or opens Settings if EasyMenu isn’t available).
• Movable & scalable: Shift+Drag to move; Ctrl+Mouse Wheel to scale. Both are saved per character.
• Zero dependencies and lightweight.

How It Works

When you enter combat, the addon checks for a living pet. If none is found:

• The on-screen button turns red and (optionally) flashes.
• A sound plays (if enabled).
• A chat message is printed (if enabled).

When your pet returns, the button turns green and shows your pet’s portrait again.

Controls

• Move: Hold Shift and drag the button.
• Scale: Hold Ctrl and use the Mouse Wheel over the button.
• Left-click: Toggle addon Enabled/Disabled.
• Right-click: Quick menu for Sound, Flashing, Text Alerts, Channel, Presets, and opening the Settings panel.

Compatibility

• Retail (The War Within / 11.x).
• Works with default UI and most custom UIs. If Blizzard’s dropdowns aren’t loaded, right-click simply opens Settings.
• Saved per character (SavedVariablesPerCharacter).

Troubleshooting

• Button moved or scaled? Settings are saved per character. Use Reset Position in the options panel if needed.
• No right-click menu? Some UIs omit Blizzard dropdowns—right-click opens Settings instead (by design).
• No sound? Ensure Sound is enabled, select a Channel, and verify in-game volume for that channel. Use Test Sound.
