PartyDefTrack Aura

Its a test addon for tracking defs on m+ with sync option with other addon users

PartyDefTrack

Defensive cooldown tracker that sits right next to your party frames. Built for the Midnight addon restrictions.

PartyDefTrack shows the major defensive cooldowns of your group members next to their party frames, and shows which defensive buffs are currently active on them. Everything is movable and resizable, and it respects Blizzard’s addon restrictions instead of fighting them.

Features

  • Attached to party frames. Works with Blizzard party frames, Cell, ElvUI, Grid2, VuhDo and others. Frames are auto-detected by unit. If it picks the wrong one, use /pdt frame <name>.
  • Full edit mode. /pdt unlock, then drag to move. Mouse wheel changes icon size, Shift+wheel changes spacing, Alt+wheel changes the number of icons. Also available in the options panel.
  • Attached or free mode. Either follow your party frames or place every row anywhere on screen.
  • Active defensive buffs. Rendered by Blizzard’s own aura containers (big defensives and externals), so it keeps working while aura data is secret.
  • Cooldown tracking.
    • Your own cooldowns are exact.
    • Other players’ cooldowns come from visible casts and from party sync: players who also run PartyDefTrack share their cooldowns automatically (outside chat lockdown).
    • Players without the addon still get their class defensives shown dimmed, meaning “state unknown”.
  • Defensives only. The built-in list covers personal and external defensives for every class. Raid cooldowns and heals are excluded. Edit Data.lua, or use /pdt add <spellID> <cd> and /pdt off <spellID>.
  • Clean by default. Hidden in cities and rest areas. The active-buff line shows only inside instances.
  • Customizable. Icon size, spacing, max icons, offsets, opacity, side of the frame, growth direction, own row on or off.

Midnight and restrictions

In Midnight, aura, cast and cooldown data of other players is “secret” in many situations (combat, encounters, M+). PartyDefTrack does not try to bypass this. It only uses what the game allows:

  • engine-rendered aura containers for active buffs,
  • readable (non-secret) casts,
  • addon-message sync between players who both have the addon.

What this means in practice:

  • Other players’ cooldowns are only precise if they also have the addon, or if the cast was readable.
  • Cooldown lengths of players without the addon are base estimates, because talents are not visible to addons.
  • During chat lockdown (active encounters, M+), sync messages are queued and sent as soon as it’s allowed again.

For the best experience, make sure your group has it installed.
