Party Tracker
Party Tracker quietly keeps a record of every character on your account while you level, and turns it into one export string you can share with your group.
It's built for leveling with friends: everyone runs the addon, everyone exports, and the group can see who's playing what and how far each person has gotten.
What it records
For every character on your account, automatically:
- Level, with the date and time of every level-up
- Time played (
/played), checked in the background without printing to your chat. Typing/playedyourself still works as normal. - Talent points per tree, for your main spec and your dual spec
- Professions and skill levels, including secondary skills like Fishing and Cooking
- Equipped gear, slot by slot, with item level
- Your current zone
- Dungeons and raids you've entered, and when you first entered each one
It updates only when something changes: a level-up, a zone change, new talents, swapped gear or a skill-up. There's nothing to configure.
Exporting
- Type
/wpt. A window opens with your export string already selected. - Press Ctrl+C (Cmd+C on a Mac).
- Paste it wherever your group collects them (see Your group's party page below).
One export covers all your characters at once. Each character is included as soon as you've logged in on it once with the addon enabled.
The export is plain text. It's also saved in your WoW folder at WTF/Account/<account>/SavedVariables/WowPartyTracker.lua.
Commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/wpt |
Opens the export window, ready to copy |
/wpt status |
Prints your level, spec, zone and number of dungeons entered for the current character |
Performance
The addon reacts to game events only (level-up, zone change, talent, gear and skill changes). It has no per-frame updates and stores a small amount of data per character.
Privacy
- The addon doesn't send anything anywhere. WoW addons can't connect to the internet.
- Your data stays in your SavedVariables file until you copy the export string and paste it somewhere.
FAQ
Will the background /played check spam my chat? No. The addon hides its own check. When you type /played yourself, it prints as usual.
The addon shows as "out of date" after a patch. Tick Load out of date AddOns on the character select screen's AddOns menu until an update is out. Nothing in the addon depends on patch-specific changes.
Is it free? Yes.
Your group's party page
Party Tracker was made for a free, private group page where friends paste their exports to see everyone's class, spec, level, professions and gear side by side. One person creates a party there and shares the invite link with the group. You can find it at partytracker.app.
