What's new

[start]

Minimap

Forever

  • The minimap is now an interactive map drawn by Orbit, with Blizzard's player arrow and tracking dots on top. It zooms smoothly from Blizzard's closest range out to 1,500 yards and remembers your zoom. Turn off Map interactivity in the Behaviour tab to keep Blizzard's minimap.
  • Toggle HUD Map now opens an interactive map centred on your character, and the corner minimap hides while it is open. The HUD Map tab sets its shape (Circle, Square, Splatter or Faded Circle), size, opacity, quest area opacity and rotation, starting from new defaults. The HUD map also works with the Minimap plugin disabled.
  • Hold the interact key (Alt by default) over either map to drag it, zoom at the cursor and click a marker to set a waypoint there. Right-click the map to drop a waypoint and right-click your waypoint to remove it. Let go and clicks pass through again; the map glides back to you after the Return delay.
  • Inside buildings, both maps show the floor plan of the storey you are on and switch floors as you move between them, including Undercity's levels, without needing Orbit: Navigation. Other areas opacity in the Appearance tab sets how much everything outside fades.
  • Herb and ore dots show their item icons (Herb/ore icons in the Appearance tab), and group members and your waypoint get their own markers.
  • In instances, in Edit Mode and while Hud is open, the maps switch back to Blizzard's minimap.
  • With Orbit: Navigation installed (Not yet available), the maps also draw your route and service and travel markers, and add Route, Services, Travel and Automatic route preview to the Minimap settings.

All clients

  • Shorter setting names: Border, Rotate, Auto zoom-out and Quest area opacity; on the HUD Map tab, Toggle key, Size, Opacity and Rotate.
  • Key Bindings > Orbit adds Toggle navigation map, which works like Toggle HUD Map, and Preview route for Orbit: Navigation routes on Forever.
  • Fixed the minimap keeping Hud's shape after Hud closes.

Variants

  • Ctrl+click a Variants button to share Base or one variant: choose it in the Share Variants window and click the box to select its string for copying. This works in Edit Mode settings, Orbit Options, the Plugin Manager and Bags.
  • Paste someone else's string to add it to your variants without switching to it. The paste box first names the plugin and variant, the name it will get and how many settings are applied by number or skipped. Shared Base arrives as Base (1), and a name you already use gets (1), (2) and so on.
  • Custom aura filters a shared variant uses come with it. Settings for the sender's own custom raid tiers, aura containers and portrait aura families are skipped; numbered damage meters, action bars and Tracked containers apply to yours with the same number.
  • Pasting a variant string into the Profiles import box now points you to the plugin's Variants button.
  • Fixed profile export coming back empty when a variant picked an aura filter or portrait aura family.

Canvas Mode

  • Added Winged Circle and Minimalist styles for the Target and Focus classification icon. Winged Circle is gold for elites and bosses and silver for rares; Minimalist uses compact rings and switches to the winged ring for bosses. The icon's Scale moves in 5% steps, and the preview shows the right art even when the live icon is hidden.
  • Added a colour swatch beside the Border style of Player, Target and Focus 2D portraits: left-click to pick a colour, right-click for no tint. Retail and Forever rims keep their natural colours until you pick one; other portrait borders follow your global border colour.
  • Layers 0-8 now give every component, including text, icons, portraits and their rims, auras and bars, the same nine heights in Canvas Mode and on live frames. Text and icons on Player, Target and Focus follow their layer instead of always drawing above the portrait.
  • Unmerged cast and power bars now default to Layer 4 like other components. Merged ones sit at the frame's base, so the shared border can't cover other components; their layer is locked while merged, and your saved layer returns when you detach them.
  • The preview no longer moves when you switch component settings, and a new session opens centred unless you moved or resized the window.
  • Drops keep exactly the position shown, dragging along one axis no longer nudges the other, and a live refresh no longer snaps back what you are dragging.
  • Arrow-key and mouse-wheel nudges on cast and power bar Text and Timer always move 1 pixel (10 with Shift), and text no longer shifts after Apply and reopening.
  • Changing UI scale or resolution with Canvas Mode open rebuilds the preview and keeps your selection, open settings, zoom and unsaved edits.
  • The minimap zoom buttons keep their spacing at every scale, and on Forever the day/night indicator resizes in proportion.
  • Fixed group frame Buffs and Debuffs landing out of place when dragged back out of the disabled tray. They now return to their saved spot, and Apply keeps it there.

Options

  • Added Default to every font picker to use Blizzard's standard font for your game language.
  • On the Global tab, Border Style and Icon Border Style are now Borders and Icon Borders, and the rounded border weight sliders are now Styles.
  • On Retail, the Variants and Sync buttons in settings headers now match the close button's size.

Menu Bar

  • Added a Show bags option. Turning it off removes the bags button, and the Layout row choices update to fit the new button count.
  • When your saved row count doesn't fit the current buttons, Layout shows 1 row and brings your choice back once it fits again.

Bags

  • Fixed bag and bank slots sometimes showing as empty blue glowing squares with no item icons. Slots now draw straight away and fill in as item details load.
  • Fixed cooldown tracking, item levels and binding badges staying stale when item details finish loading.
  • Sorting, changing the sort mode, dragging an item to a new spot, closing the equipped-gear table or changing a List filter now redraws the slots straight away.

Unit Frames

  • Fixed "Interface action failed because of an AddOn" when a unit frame with a portrait changed size in combat, for example when its aggro highlight appeared. Its components finish moving when combat ends.

Objectives

  • Fixed the quest item button causing "Interface action failed because of an AddOn" in combat when your target was friendly, unattackable or a corpse. In combat, its out-of-range tint now only updates for living targets you can attack.
