A self-imposed stealth/espionage playstyle for World of Warcraft, automated. Instead of playing the all-powerful champion, you're a shadow operative working off the grid — this addon enforces the mechanical side of that fantasy so you can focus on playing it.

ORIGIN

Operation: Ghost is a self-imposed playstyle popularized by the Azeroth Morning Radio podcast. This addon automates the parts that can be enforced client-side; travel discipline, gear restrictions beyond the AH/mail, and combat style are still on you.

WHAT IT BLOCKS

Flying mounts — dismounts you the instant you leave the ground, no matter how you summon it (Mount Journal, action bar, macro, keybind). Works on every mount type, including Dragonriding/Skyriding.

Auction House — closes the moment it tries to open.

Mailbox — same treatment.

Trade Window — lone operatives don't trade.

Each block can be toggled on or off independently.

DOSSIER MODE

Quest descriptions, objectives, and gossip text get run through a sentence-restructuring and vocabulary-swap engine that reframes them as espionage briefings — "kill the monsters" becomes "eliminate the hostiles," "wants you to" becomes "has a job for you," and so on. Quest titles get tagged by actual quest type (OPS, MSN, TASK, BNTY, and more — see the in-game key in the intro popup). NPCs written in strong dialect (troll patois, pirate speak, etc.) are automatically detected and left in their own voice rather than getting a jarring mismatch.

Fully compatible with the Immersion addon.

This is a client-side text transform, not AI-generated content — WoW addons can't call out to external services.

Level-up and death flavor text ("Clearance level increased," "Agent down. Awaiting extraction.")

A first-run briefing popup explaining the full playstyle and its rules of engagement, reachable anytime with a command.

COMMANDS

Type /ghost by itself at any time to see your current settings and this full command list in-game.

/ghost — show status and all settings
/ghost on — enable the whole addon
/ghost off — disable the whole addon
/ghost flying — toggle the flying mount block
/ghost ah — toggle the Auction House block
/ghost mail — toggle the mailbox block
/ghost trade — toggle the Trade Window block
/ghost dossier — toggle espionage-flavored quest text
/ghost titles — toggle quest title tags (OPS/MSN/TASK/etc.)
/ghost levelup — toggle level-up flavor text
