The most inclusive guild in Azeroth—everyone’s welcome. Some just need a better guild tag.
Features
- Olympus-only chat: Hides incoming messages from identified players in other guilds.
- Strict mode: Also hides unidentified players until their guild is known.
- Invite filtering: Declines non-Olympus guild invites and filters group invites using the same player rules.
- Simple controls: Open the options window with
/ofans. - No ignore-list clutter: Does not add anyone to your account’s ignore list.
- Local filtering: Does not send replies or notify filtered players.
Your own messages remain visible. System messages, NPC dialogue, and Battle.net messages are not filtered.
Installation
- Download and extract the ZIP.
- Place the OlympusFans folder inside your WoW Forever installation’s
Interface/AddOnsdirectory. - Confirm that
OlympusFans.tocsits directly inside that folder—not inside an extra nested folder. - Restart WoW and enable OlympusFans in the AddOns list.
- Enter
/ofansto open the options.
Disable OlympusMute while using OlympusFans. Their opposing rules can hide messages from both groups.
Getting Started
OlympusFans starts with filtering, strict mode, and invite filtering enabled.
WoW does not attach a guild name to every chat message. The addon learns guild information from players you target or mouse over, available nameplates, party/raid members, and /who results.
Use /ofans scan to request a search for Olympus members. If the cache does not populate, open WoW’s Who window and search for Olympus there.
Search results may be capped, so one scan may not identify every member.
Strict Mode
On by default: Unidentified players are hidden, including legitimate Olympus members whose guild hasn’t been detected yet. Confirmed unguilded players are also hidden.
Prefer to see messages while identification catches up? Use:
/ofans strict off
This allows unidentified players through but continues filtering players known to belong to non-Olympus guilds.
Invite Filtering
Invite filtering is enabled by default.
- Guild invites are checked against the inviting guild’s name.
- Group invites are checked against the inviter’s known guild.
- In strict mode, unidentified group inviters are declined.
- No invites are automatically accepted.
Disable this feature with /ofans invites off.

Limitations and Troubleshooting
An Olympus member is missing from chat.
Their guild may not be known yet. Target or mouse over them, search through Who, or temporarily disable strict mode.
Chat is unusually quiet.
Strict mode hides everyone who has not been identified. Try /ofans strict off, or /ofans off to disable filtering.
Someone changed guilds.
Guild information is cached for up to ten minutes and refreshed when new information is detected. /ofans clear clears that cache immediately.
The scan does not work.
Scans have a ten-second cooldown and must be performed outside combat. Client restrictions and Who-window behavior may affect results. Try searching manually.
Does this hide players or chat bubbles?
No. This version filters supported incoming chat messages and invites. It does not remove characters, suppress chat bubbles, or block server-side interactions.
Does this filter every possible message?
No. Messages whose sender information is restricted by the game pass through safely. Filtering applies only where the client exposes the necessary information.
When reporting an issue, include your client version, addon version, the relevant chat channel or invite type, strict-mode setting, and any Lua error.
