Historical description of the final release
Keep your Light alive.
Oathlight is a Paladin Seal timer and renewal reminder for World of Warcraft: Forever 1.60.1. It puts your native Seal icon and countdown inside a gold-and-ivory winged frame, making the next refresh easy to see and hear.
0.1.11 update: click-to-recast now works with a dead target, including in combat and after your Seal expires. Seal of Command damage procs no longer restart the timer or extend the holy-fire streak. Learned Seal flyouts, overrides and localized Forever Fury/Furor families are supported. Your settings and saved layout are retained.
A living reminder
- Active Seal: a broad golden aura rotates, breathes and carries orbiting sparks around the frame. A luminous inner ring drains with the buff.
- Time to renew: at five seconds remaining by default, the aura tightens and brightens with an urgent rhythm, and a native game chime sounds.
- Seal expired: the whole display continuously pulses until you reapply a Seal. An additional expiry chime is enabled by default.
- Holy-fire streak: keep a Seal active continuously for three full durations to ignite animated holy fire and rising embers. A 30-second Seal requires 90 seconds of uninterrupted uptime. Early refreshes and switching Seals preserve the streak; expiry, confirmed removal or death ends it. Reloading or logging in starts a new streak. This is a visual reward, with no gameplay bonus.
Make it yours
- Move the HUD anywhere, scale it with a native slider or exact numeric input, then lock it in place. Settings are saved per character.
- Optionally enable Click to recast selected Seal and choose a learned Seal. A manual click on the locked native icon or gold frame casts it using WoW's secure spell-button system. This option defaults off and follows normal mana and cooldown rules.
- Sound reminders work both in and out of combat by default. Choose a native sound, sound channel, warning time, optional combat-only sounds or optional repeating missing-Seal reminders.
- Reduced Motion keeps the light and flames steady while retaining the timer and alerts.
- Preview the renewal alerts and holy-fire effect from settings before choosing your layout.
Oathlight uses native WoW spell icons. It does not hide, move or replace your native frames. The compact default sits above the action bars just right of center. Your saved position stays fixed through combat, target changes, temporary native widgets and reloads. If your native HUD occupies that area, use Move anywhere to choose a clear spot. Position, scale and click-action changes must be made outside combat; screen-edge clamping keeps the display reachable after size changes.

Compatibility and timer accuracy
Forever 1.60.1, client build 70009 / interface 16001, Paladins only. No dependencies. Other WoW versions are not supported by this release.
Readable player buffs provide the timer. During Forever's restricted combat aura access, Oathlight uses the last known timer and successful Seal casts to maintain an estimate. ~ marks an estimated countdown; ? means the expiry or timer is uncertain. Readable data resynchronizes the display. Failed casts do not reset the timer, and Judgement and Holy Strike do not consume or restart it. Unobservable early dispels or refreshes can delay correction of the countdown and streak.
Live reminders pause while dead, mounted, on a taxi or in a vehicle. If another addon also provides Seal sounds, choose which one should alert you to avoid duplicate reminders.
The interface is in English. Established Seal families use localized spell names; discovery of additional beta Seal families uses English spellbook names.
Feedback and credits
Oathlight is retired and no longer accepts support requests. Thank you for your past feedback.
Created by rbigbie. Decorative winged-frame, aura and fire artwork was generated specifically for Oathlight using OpenAI image generation. Animations run in the addon. Native game icons and sounds are referenced from the installed client and are not bundled. Gallery images are actual in-game captures; the holy-fire demonstration is labeled as a preview.
