Short line for a listing:
A secret-speech tome for Forever. Friends with your key read the real words. Everyone else hears the cant. Light and shadow both fit in the same book.
What it is
You open a movable tome with /tome or the seal button. The cover, seal, and voice change with who you serve. The first time you open it, the year notices you and the book counts you in. After that, the seal is a button you can drag. Right-click hides it. /tome button brings it back.
Nothing in the addon changes damage, healing, or threat. Veil power, relics, and ranks are roleplay only.
Who you serve
Pick one mouth from a dropdown. The book’s color, seal, insults, omens, and combat lines follow that choice.
Light: the Holy Light, Elune, the Silver Hand, the Argent Dawn, the Scarlet Crusade, Northshire, the Cenarion Circle, the Earthen Ring, the Kirin Tor, the High Order, the Windshapers, and the Brotherhood of the Horse.
Shadow: the Unending Year, C'Thun, Yogg-Saron, N'Zoth, Y'Shaarj, the Black Empire, the Screaming Void, the Faceless, G'huun, the Burning Legion, the Shadow Council, the Cult of the Damned, Hakkar, the Defias, and Al'Aketh.
There is also “Every mouth,” if you will not pick one master.
The lines are written for Forever, not for a later expansion. Dalaran is still in Alterac. The Cult still serves the frozen throne, and the Forsaken do not. The Defias still hold the Deadmines. Westfall is still hungry.
Secret speech
Forty-nine tongues, each a spoken cant of short syllables, not random symbols. Among them: Twilight Cant, Shath'Yar, Qiraji, C'Thun, Yogg-Saron, N'Zoth, Eredun, Demonic, Cult of the Damned, Nazja, Draconic, Kalimag, Darnassian, Thalassian, Taurahe, Orcish, Zandali, Gutterspeak, Nerubian, Nerglish, Titan, Dwarven, Dark Iron, Gnomish, Goblin, Gilnean, Defias cant, Scarlet cant, Kirin Tor, and Cenarion.
You and your circle share one secret word, set with /nytkey. Same tongue and same key: the addon prints the real sentence. Anyone else, or anyone without the addon, only sees the cant in chat.
From the Secret page you can say it nearby, whisper your target, send it to party or guild, or murmur. A murmur never enters public chat. It only reaches guild or party members who have the tome. /nyt your words speaks from chat.

While the tome is open, the one you serve sometimes speaks in your chat. About every fifteen minutes, even with the book closed, you get one private line. Sometimes it is lore. Sometimes they are simply tired of you. Whispers can be turned off.
Veil
Corruption runs from 0 to 100. The names are Clean, Marked, Stained, Veiled, and Opened. It rises from ordinary play: quests, kills, loot, gathering, travel, dungeons, a boss, dying, and speaking the cant. A fresh list is dealt each day.
It only falls on chapel ground, by coordinates: the Cathedral of Light, Northshire Abbey, Light’s Hope Chapel, the Hall of Mysteries, the Temple of the Moon, Nighthaven, and the Scarlet Monastery. Standing still there washes it faster. /veil tells you where you are standing and whether it counts.
Hunger
Two people who both have the addon can bond with /nytbond Name. They answer /nytbond accept. A shared rite then raises both of them. One person cannot climb this track alone. The rite has a wait, and more corruption opens more bond slots. Either of you can cut the bond. This is opt-in roleplay between adults. It does not raise your combat numbers.
Omen
Three vows in a day: speak in a tongue, draw blood, and stand in a chapel. All three leave one relic. Relics raise a cult rank from Unsworn to Acolyte, Cantor, Vessel, Mouth, and Herald. You can draw an omen from whoever you serve, or spend a relic to make them answer. Again, no combat effect.
Face, the way Total RP does it
On Face you write a name, title, age, home, a line you live by, a description, what you are looking for, and what you are doing right now. Target another player who has the tome and press the button on their unit frame. Their page opens in your book. If they do not have the addon, the page stays empty. Publish the Looking board so guild and party can see the tags.
Guilds
You type the guild names you want. This is your circle, not someone else’s list. The page keeps a census for guilds you have added: members, who is online, and who leads them. Officers can post a short decree. It does not paint Blizzard portraits or nameplates.
What you say in a fight
Combat speech is your character, in /say, not a popup. It knows the spell you cast and it knows when you are stunned, feared, rooted, or polymorphed. The line follows your class and who you serve. There is a ten-second gap so it does not spam. /nytcombat turns it off. Entering combat or dying can also draw a private insult from your patron.
Sounds
Clicks, page turns, murmurs, and each patron have their own sound. Settings can silence all of it.
