Cracked the code! After more than 15 hours of /reload testing in The Grudge Pit, I found a practical way to mitigate the severe Objective Tracker performance issues in Delves.
Objective Tracker
- Rebuilt Objective Tracker sections for increased performance.
- Added Delve Update Throttle (Objective Tracker > General), defaulting to 0.25 seconds.
Note: In Delves, Blizzard's tracker can issue layout/update work far more often than needed (hundreds of times per second in worst cases). Throttling caps how often NomTools allows those updates through (for example, about four times per second at the default), which restores a large amount of FPS while moving. Since updates are intentionally delayed, you may notice slight tracker lag in Delves; the slider runs from 0 (Blizzard default, no NomTools throttle) up to 2 seconds. Values above 0.25s are usually a small extra win; below 0.25s, performance cost rises quickly.
Combined with other optimizations, worst-case scenarios improved by roughly 150% on my PC; your results will vary.
- Moved the Search Bar into the main tracker header instead of treating it as a separate ordered section.
- Fixed sections not collapsing correctly when minimized.
- Fixed the Scenario section sometimes failing to update its completion colors.
- Fixed the Search Bar remaining visible when the Objective Tracker was minimized.
World Quests
- (Hopefully temporary) change to how reward tooltips are built, to avoid recurring tooltip errors from a Blizzard UI bug introduced in Midnight that still is not fixed.
- Updated tooltips for consistency and clarity.
General
- The changelog no longer appears automatically on a fresh installation of the addon.
- Updated styling in various places.
