Noctis Guides Example Route Pack v1.9.8
What's new
MissionAccomplished 1.9.8
Three windows that were mostly not showing you the thing you opened them for, and a bank snapshot that could erase itself.
The Menagerie's rank is a badge you can read
The overall grade sat in the corner of the Selected Pet card at 28 units, and its letter drew smaller than the six component letters it summarises: 4 by 7 pixels of ink against their 6 by 9. The same badge drawn on a passing tooltip was larger than the one on the panel whose entire purpose is that rating. The ring was the minimap button's rim, whose opaque band is 7% of its own width, so at that size it drew as a hairline and read as a green circle rather than a medal.
It is a 72-unit medallion now, in its own hero row at the top of the card, in painted bronze with a navy enamel channel, carrying the numeric rating and the family beside it. The Rank tile has left the strip below, because that row carries components and the panel was otherwise printing the same grade three times over.
The rest of the panel moved with it. The four filter rows pair onto two, the Overview is a label-and-value grid over a scrolling body instead of a paragraph, the Hunt button spans the card instead of floating in 92 units of empty space, and long pet and model names wrap in full.
Bankert's Bags is mostly bags again
Measured in the client: the bank-alt header was 174 units tall and the entire bag box beneath it was 133. The header was taller than everything it sat above, and the visible grid was exactly one row of items, in a window you open to look at bags.
Nothing in that header was touched more than once per character, and everything reached every session already lived on the row below it. It is a 52-unit strip now: a portrait, two lines, and two circular controls. Set Bank Alt, Refresh and the tracked-character list are behind the gear. The grid shows five rows.
Noctis Guides has sections
Nine checkboxes, a rule, four dropdowns, a slider with two unrelated checkboxes crammed beside it, a progress bar, then four more checkboxes, with nothing saying which setting belonged with which. It is four named sections now: Guides, Route, Party and sharing, and Quest helpers. No setting was removed or renamed, and the panel still fits its host without a scroll bar.
"Show Party Arrows" also rendered as "Show Party...". Both party checkboxes were anchored to the same frame, and a checkbox label stops at its parent's right edge, so the two shared one lane and the second got 76 units of it.
A failed bank read could erase the bank
Bankert's Bags guarded the bags write on having actually found slots, and wrote the bank with no guard at all, then stamped the clock either way. So a bank that could not be read replaced a good snapshot with nothing, and the panel then reported it as fresh. Remembering a bank you are not standing in front of is the whole point of the feature. The bank write is now gated the same way the bags write is, on slots rather than on item count, so deliberately emptying your bank is still recorded and only an unreadable one is refused.
Smaller things
- Season of Discovery creatures were reported present on Hardcore realms. The check asked whether any season was running, and a Hardcore Era realm answers yes, so the Menagerie would send a Hardcore hunter after a creature that is not on their realm.
- One Bag's Group control was answered and ignored: the merged view discards the grouping key, and the code meant to grey the control out asked for a method themed dropdowns do not have.
- Hovering the Build Score in Mahler's Armory now explains it, in four lines, including which stats a point of each is worth most on your build. The Armory panel's copy of the ring had no hover text at all.
- Catalogued creatures now shade their recorded spawn areas on the world map. The data held a median of 81 points per creature and the map drew one pin.
As with every release here, the eleven package versions move together to 1.9.8.
