Description
NIGHTWATCH
Know Your Enemy. Remember Your Allies.
Nightwatch is a PvP and PvE player intelligence, community activity, and group management addon built specifically for World of Warcraft: Forever.
Track the enemies you encounter, remember the teammates you trust, explore World PvP activity, compete on the community leaderboard, and organize your next battleground or raid — all through a Warcraft-inspired interface.
Every encounter tells a story. Nightwatch helps you remember it.
Features
PvP Intelligence & Enemy Tracking
- Track enemy players encountered during your adventures, with a session-based Overview and a persistent PvP Journal.
- Mark dangerous opponents as Kill on Sight (KoS) and maintain personal enemy notes and encounter history.
- Review player profiles, recent activity, and important encounters.
- Access tracked player information through integrated tooltips.
- Use optional, enemy-only nameplate indicators for saved Journal entries, including role-colored KoS markers.
- Manually mark players as KoS directly from the Overlord Forever leaderboard when that addon is installed.
Passive sightings do not automatically create permanent Journal entries. Your personal KoS list and Journal notes are not broadcast to other players.
World PvP Leaderboard & Player Profiles
- View weekly and lifetime World PvP killing blows, character rankings, and anti-farming points.
- Search community rankings and review your own PvP performance.
- Create an optional player profile and link your own alternate characters.
- Expand linked profiles to see their contributing characters and class breakdowns.
- Control the publication of your own scores and profile information through privacy settings.
Community rankings are based on player-published reports, not server-verified statistics. Linked alternate characters become visible to recipients when profile publishing is enabled.
Nightwatch Network (NWN)
Discover historical World PvP activity shared by the Nightwatch community.
- Always-active network core — no separate master switch or complicated setup required.
- Receive delayed, aggregated PvP activity from compatible Nightwatch players.
- Use optional Smart Sync to catch up on previously shared activity.
- Support community communication through compatible group connections and an optional Battle.net friends relay.
- Exchange eligible historical activity and published leaderboard records with other participating clients.
- Manage receiving, activity sharing, presence, and relay preferences from a simple Network settings page.
No live enemy locations, personal Journal notes, or private KoS lists are automatically shared. Outgoing community activity and presence sharing are optional. Cross-faction relay requires separate permission.
PvP Activity Heatmap
- Explore locally recorded enemy activity across zones.
- Identify areas with a history of frequent PvP encounters.
- Filter activity and inspect historical community hotspots where shared data is available.
- Keep the local Heatmap enabled or disabled independently of Nightwatch Network.
Community Heatmap information is delayed and approximate, not a live player-position tracker.
PvE Player Journal
Not every player deserves to be forgotten after a dungeon or raid.
- Mark players as Trusted or Avoid.
- Save notes, tags, favorites, and useful group history.
- Review recently encountered teammates and capture groups for later review.
- Manage player relationships through supported context menus.
- Keep your PvE Journal available across characters on the same account.
Party & Raid Organizer
Organize World PvP groups, battleground premades, and raids with recruitment and roster tools.
- Create and manage World PvP, battleground, and raid events.
- Configure automatic invitations using custom whisper triggers.
- Manage recruitment messages and current group composition.
- Automatically convert a party into a raid when the group becomes eligible.
- Build reusable templates with class and role priorities.
- Use presets for Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin, Alterac Valley, World PvP, and raids.
- Inspect raid-group composition and manage group placements when permitted by your raid role.
Smart Auto-Invite can optionally require Trusted players, exclude Avoid-listed characters, and enforce available class or role slots in your selected template.
PvP & PvE Notifications
- Receive configurable alerts for KoS, Avoid, Trusted, and supported PvE events.
- Choose notification banners, chat messages, and built-in World of Warcraft sounds.
- Customize cooldowns and preview sounds without generating real encounter data.
- Keep important events visible without unnecessary repeated alerts.
Import & Export
- Back up and transfer Trusted/Avoid Journals and Raid Templates/Presets.
- Validate imported data before applying changes.
- Merge supported records without overwriting unrelated addon data.
- Use a scrollable import/export window for larger backups.
Streamer Mode
Protect information shown inside the Nightwatch interface while streaming or recording.
- Replace displayed player names with session-based codenames.
- Optionally use partial name masking.
- Hide selected guild, realm, and recruitment information.
- Keep the underlying player records unchanged.
Streamer Mode affects Nightwatch's interface, not Blizzard chat, unit frames, or other addons.

Privacy & Data
Nightwatch is designed around locally stored player intelligence.
Personal encounter history, player notes, Trusted/Avoid Journals, private KoS records, and addon settings are stored on your own client. Nightwatch Network starts as a built-in service, while outgoing community activity and presence sharing remain optional.
When enabled, supported network features can transmit delayed, aggregated activity, limited presence information, and separately published leaderboard or player-profile records. Shared records may be forwarded by compatible participating clients and remain available for a limited time after you go offline. Your character name can be visible to recipients, and published player profiles can reveal linked alternate characters.
Battle.net friends relay is optional, and cross-faction relay requires separate permission. Nightwatch does not automatically broadcast live enemy positions, private player notes, or personal Journal/KoS entries.
Compatibility
Designed for World of Warcraft: Forever

Nightwatch is specifically developed for the WoW Forever environment. Compatibility with Retail, Classic Era, or other WoW clients is not guaranteed.
Some features, especially network synchronization, Battle.net relay, and group management, depend on supported client APIs and in-game restrictions.
