New buff, who dis? is a lightweight, standalone World of Warcraft: Forever add-on that identifies the players responsible for casting buffs on your character.
Whether you're standing in Stormwind receiving random blessings, getting a helpful Mark of the Wild from a passing Druid, or wondering who just gave you Arcane Intellect, New buff, who dis? helps put a name to that mysterious act of kindness!

Buff Caster Identification — Hover over an active buff to see who cast it on you, directly in the tooltip.

Automatic Caster Tracking — Detects and records caster information when it's available through the game's API.

Smart Caster Caching — Remembers who cast your buffs, even after that player moves away or leaves your immediate range.

Class-Colored Names — Displays caster names using their class colors when available.

Seamless Tooltip Integration — Adds a simple "Cast by: PlayerName" line without replacing or interfering with Blizzard's default tooltip.

Works with Random Players — Doesn't require the caster to be in your party, raid, or guild.

No Dependencies — Completely standalone. Other players don't need to install the add-on.

How It Works
When another player casts a buff on you, New buff, who dis? attempts to identify the caster using information provided by the game.
Once identified, the caster's name is associated with that buff and remembered while the buff remains active.
Simply hover your mouse over the buff icon to see:
Cast by: PlayerName
Even if the player runs off to continue their adventures, the add-on can remember their identity!
Compatibility
Designed for World of Warcraft: Forever (1.60.x).
Supports Blizzard's default buff tooltips.
Please Note: Caster identification depends on the information available through the game's API. Some buffs may not expose their caster, particularly if the player is already out of range before their identity can be captured.
Debuff handling is included but has not yet been fully tested.
Commands

/nbwd status— View add-on statistics. -
/nbwd debug— Enable or disable diagnostic messages. -
/nbwd scan— Manually rescan active auras. -
/nbwd last— Display the last hovered spell ID.
Installation

Download and extract the add-on.

Place the
NewBuffWhoDisfolder inside your World of Warcraft: ForeverInterface/AddOnsdirectory. -
Enable the add-on from the character-selection screen.
