What's new
Version 1.5.21 - The trail map, gathering spots, outlined quest areas
Restart the game after updating (new files). A /reload is not enough.
NEW
- The trail map (Settings > Trail map, off to start). A see-through map of the zone you are in, to keep on screen while you travel. Only the roads (soft white lines) and dirt trails (soft white dots) are drawn, with settlements in cyan, areas in gold, neighbouring zones in grey, flight masters and dungeon entrances as small rings, and the quests you track as soft shaded areas (gold for the objective, blue for the hand-in, green for the quest you follow). You are the cyan marker, with a dim light the way you face.
- Trail map size and opacity, Lock the trail map (locked, clicks pass straight through it), Map anchor (bottom, top, left, right or the middle).
- Fades out on its own: in combat (back 3 seconds after), while you target an enemy, while you talk to an NPC, indoors, and after you stand still (120 seconds, 30 to 600). Each is a switch, on to start.
- What the trail map shows: minor locations, quest hubs and towns, quest NPCs and objectives, points of interest, capital cities, bordering zone names, the player marker and direction. Hover the map for a small arrow that opens these switches without the settings.
- While it is on, Shift+M opens it instead of the game's zone map. /nmaps trail, /nmaps trail lock. It stays up when Campfire Chronicles hides the UI.
- Roads and trails are traced from the game's own map for all 40 classic outdoor zones. Badlands, Dustwallow Marsh, Deadwind Pass and Un'Goro Crater show their places only (no road there can be followed safely).
- Gathering spots (needs NetherBags' gathering ledger). Every herb, vein, skinned beast, fish and chest puts a spot on the map where you were, in NetherMaps' own round tokens, one per kind. A node you visit 30 times is one spot that says "Gathered 30 times". Hover for what you got and when; click for a waypoint or to forget it. Shared by all your characters. Settings > Gathering spots: world map (on), minimap (off), a switch per kind, Heat and route view, Draw the session's route, and clearing a zone or everything (asks first). The trail map shows them too.
- Quest areas are outlined. The glowing blobs on the world map and the trail map are now a clean outline around the ground an objective covers, with a light tint inside. New sliders under Quests: Area fill opacity (15%) and Area border opacity (65%). The minimap keeps its soft shading.
- Quests > The game's own quest shading on the minimap (off to start): the game's hatched areas and rings now stay off unless you tick this.
- A rare nearby plays the family's Alert sound: in NetherSuite > Fonts & Sounds it can stay NetherMaps' own, become another sound, say the rare's name aloud, or be silent.
- Fonts & Sounds. With NetherUI_Media installed, NetherMaps' text follows your choices in NetherSuite > Fonts & Sounds (the fonts for text, titles and numbers, the text size, outline and shadow) at once, and the family's master mute silences its sounds. Nothing changes until you choose something.
CHANGED
- Every setting is now in NetherSuite's search, including the profile you use and the buttons of Profiles and Data, Waypoints, Filters and Diagnostics. Choices show their current value by name.
LICENCE
- Plugins and addons that work alongside NetherMaps stay welcome, but changing NetherMaps' own files in any way (by hand, by script or with an AI) is not allowed. See LICENSE.txt, section 2. The same applies to NetherMaps_Learned in this download.
