Nerve — Code, Artwork and Third-Party License Terms
Nerve contains components under different terms. The MIT License below applies to Nerve's original code and documentation. Nerve artwork and branding are covered separately by the artwork terms below. Bundled third-party components retain their own terms.
1. ORIGINAL CODE AND DOCUMENTATION — MIT LICENSE
Copyright (c) 2026 NS
Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy
of this software and associated documentation files (the "Software"), to deal
in the Software without restriction, including without limitation the rights
to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell
copies of the Software, and to permit persons to whom the Software is
furnished to do so, subject to the following conditions:
The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all
copies or substantial portions of the Software.
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR
IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY,
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE
AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER

OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE
SOFTWARE.
2. NERVE ARTWORK AND BRANDING TERMS
Copyright (c) 2026 NS. All rights reserved except for the permissions below.
Scope
These terms cover NS's original Nerve artwork: overlay/style textures, effects,
motion layers, particles, icons, logos and their derived runtime assets. In the
addon package they include Media/, including its runtime icon.
They are separate from the MIT license for Nerve's original code and documentation.
Third-party materials remain subject to their respective owners' terms.
Permissions
You may:
- Install and use this artwork as part of Nerve, including the appearance and
animation adjustments offered by Nerve's own settings.
- Copy and redistribute complete, unmodified official Nerve release packages,
keeping their notices and attribution intact.
- Show Nerve in screenshots, videos, streams, reviews and guides, including
monetized content. Ordinary cropping, resizing and editing of that content
is allowed; this does not permit extraction of the artwork for standalone reuse.
Permission required
Obtain NS's permission before modifying artwork files beyond Nerve's own runtime
settings, distributing extracted or modified artwork, or reusing these assets in
another addon, product or project. The MIT code license does not grant those
artwork rights. For example, distributing a modified code fork with these assets
requires separate permission; a code-only fork remains governed by MIT.
Name and logo
No general right to use the Nerve name or logo as another project's branding is
granted. You may identify, describe and link to Nerve accurately, and show its name
and logo in the permitted screenshots, videos and unchanged official packages.
Do not imply that NS endorses or produced an unofficial project.
To request additional permission, contact NS through the Nerve project's public
issue tracker:
https://github.com/eggntoast/Nerve-Public/issues
Rights that cannot lawfully be restricted are unaffected.
The artwork is provided as is, without warranties, to the extent permitted by law.
3. THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS
Bundled libraries are embedded parts of Nerve and retain their respective terms.
No bundled third-party component is relicensed under Nerve's MIT license.
- AceSerializer-3.0, CallbackHandler-1.0 and LibDBIcon-1.0:
See each component's LICENSE.txt and NOTICE.txt under Nerve/Libs/ for
its full terms and source attribution.
- LibDataBroker-1.1:
Embedded unchanged under the author's published addon-embedding guidance.
The project lists All Rights Reserved. No general MIT license, standalone
redistribution grant or permission to modify this library is asserted.
See Nerve/Libs/LibDataBroker-1.1/NOTICE.txt.
- LibStub:
The bundled source retains its public-domain notice.
See Nerve/THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md and the individual component files included
with the addon. Full component terms take precedence over these summaries.
