Forever Nameplate Font

Forever Nameplate Font is a lightweight addon for World of Warcraft: Forever Beta that lets you customize nameplate text size and position.

Automatically applies a preferred Forever nameplate preset

How to Use

Click the minimap button to open the settings panel.

Each text element has:

Size — font size

X — horizontal position

Y — vertical position

Position rules:

Positive X = move right

Negative X = move left

Positive Y = move up

Negative Y = move down

Changes are applied directly to visible nameplates.

Minimap Button

Left Click
Open or close the settings panel.

Shift + Right Click
Reset all custom font and position settings.

Drag
Move the minimap button.

Commands

/npfont
Open the settings panel.

/npfont saved
Show currently loaded font and position settings.

/npfont save
Manually save the current settings.

/npfont diag
Show storage/debug information.

/npfont loadmacro
Manually restore settings from the backup macro.

/npfont reset
Reset font sizes and positions.

/npfont preset
Reapply the preferred Forever nameplate game settings.

Saved Settings

The current Forever Beta client may not reliably restore addon SavedVariables after a full game restart.

To work around this, the addon can create a character-specific macro named:

NPFontData

This macro is used only as a small persistent data container for addon settings.

It does not cast spells or execute gameplay commands.

Do not delete NPFontData if you want the addon to restore your saved font settings after restarting the game.

Notes

This addon is designed specifically for WoW: Forever Beta.

Forever is still in beta, so Blizzard may change nameplate frames or APIs between builds.

Some settings may need updates after major beta patches.

Nameplate text may use protected or secret-string data; this addon avoids reading protected text values and modifies the UI objects directly.

Macro storage cannot be updated during combat. If settings are changed in combat, saving may be delayed until combat ends.

If settings fail to restore, try:

/npfont loadmacro

or check:

/npfont diag
