Mythic Raider Deaths

Instant in-game death recap, after every pull. Who died, to what boss ability, in what order, mechanic hints, overkill damage, and boss HP % at the wipe. Built for WoW 12.0+, where classic combat-log death addons no longer work.

Description

The pull just wiped. Someone asks "what happened?" and three people start typing three different answers in three different colors while the raid leader waits. Mythic Raider Deaths ends that. The second the wipe hits, a recap panel is already open with the real answer: who died, to what, in what order, and how far you got.

No alt-tabbing to a log site. No waiting for an upload to parse. No relying on someone's memory of "I think it was the void thing." Just:

- Player1 - Heaven's Glaives · got hit by the glaives and died. (+16k overkill) 1:23

- Player2 - The Darkwell · walked into the Darkwell well and died. 1:44

- Player3 - Dissonance · died because runes were out of order. (+87k overkill) 1:51

- Every other death that pull, in order, class-colored, with the boss ability and spell icon attached.

That's the whole pitch: your raid stops arguing about what killed you and starts fixing it, one pull faster than before.

Everything the recap panel shows

- Death list in kill order: class-colored player names, the exact boss ability that landed the killing blow (with its spell icon), and the time of death into the pull.
Plain-English mechanic hints, not just a spell name: "why" it killed, like "stood in the puddle and died", "got clipped by the frontal", "died because the cast wasn't interrupted." Hand-written per boss ability, not auto-generated.
- Boss HP % at the wipe: track progress pull over pull; council fights show each boss separately instead of one blended number.
- Overkill damage: tells a 2% miss apart from a one-shot at a glance.
Pull counter per boss: "Pull #23" in the header, resets automatically each raid night.
Pull history: flip back through up to 100 stored pulls, kept across sessions and reloads.
- Your own death highlighted: optionally pinned to the top so you find yourself first.

Boss coverage (mechanic hints):
Imperator Averzian · Vorasius · Fallen-King Salhadaar · Vaelgor & Ezzorak · Lightblinded Vanguard · Crown of the Cosmos · Chimaerus, the Undreamt God · Belo'ren, Child of Al'ar · Midnight Falls (L'ura) · Rotmire

Deaths on any other encounter are still captured and listed. Hints are added boss by boss as we write them.

Quality of life
- Movable, resizable recap panel: drag the grip for width and rows, sliders for scale and font size.
- Floating launcher button (drag to move, hide it in settings). Opens a sample recap in test mode if you haven't pulled yet, clearly labeled as not real data.
- Optional chat recap: post the same death summary to chat.
- Zero setup. Install, just raid, wipe, read.

Why this exists:
WoW: Midnight (patch 12.0) locked addons out of the combat log, the data source every death-recap and wipe-tracking addon used to rely on. The old approach is dead. Mythic Raider Deaths was built after 12.0 shipped, specifically to work around that wall. It reads deaths straight from Blizzard's own native damage meter and death recap API, the same source-of-truth Blizzard's in-game damage meter uses. If an addon promises combat-log death tracking on Midnight, it's promising something Blizzard no longer allows. This one doesn't need it.

Why use the addon AND the HLTG website / Discord?
They answer different questions:

- The addon answers "what just killed us?": instantly, in-game, this pull, while you can still act on it before the next pull.
- https://logsbyhltg.com and our Discord answer "how is our raid trending?": full raid-night death report graphs outside the game, pull-over-pull death trends, the same recaps shareable with teammates who weren't online, The Discord server is also where you get support, report bugs and see updates first.

Addon in-game for the moment, website + Discord for the big picture.

FAQ

Does this work in WoW: Midnight / patch 12.0?
Yes. It was built for 12.0 specifically. It uses Blizzard's native damage meter and death recap API instead of the combat log, which addons can no longer read in Midnight.

Does it need an account, upload, or companion app?
No. Everything is captured and shown locally in-game. The website and Discord are optional extras.

Why doesn't it show a full damage-taken breakdown before death?
Blizzard marks detailed combat values as protected in 12.0. The addon shows everything Blizzard exposes: killing ability, overkill, death order and timing, plus our own mechanic explanations.

Does it work in Mythic+ or open world?
Short anwser: Not right now, but maybe.
It's built for raid encounters (anything that fires an encounter start/end). Raid difficulties N/H/M/LFR are labeled in the header.

English clients only?
Mechanic hints match English boss/ability names for now. Death capture itself works on any client.
