# MSBR Enchanting Buddy

**MSBR Enchanting Buddy is currently in BETA.**  
This release is intended for testing and feedback. Some features may still change, and occasional bugs or incomplete behavior should be expected.

MSBR Enchanting Buddy is an all-in-one assistant for enchanters in **World of Warcraft Classic / The Burning Crusade Classic**.

It helps manage customers, recipes, materials, advertisements, trades, orders, income, and market activity from one unified interface.

It organizes information, prepares messages, tracks activity, and helps the player manage the full enchanting workflow more efficiently.

## Main Features

### Enchant Database

Browse and search available enchants using a fast, narrowing search.

The database can display:

- Enchant name
- Required skill
- Required materials
- Recipe source
- Trainer, vendor, reputation, quest, drop, or world-drop information
- Source location and coordinates
- TomTom waypoint support
- Known and unknown recipe status

Recipe and item names are displayed as clickable links where possible.

### Enchanter Tracking

The addon can detect enchanters advertising in chat and build a local list of known service providers.

Tracked information can include:

- Player name
- Advertised recipes
- Last observed activity
- Trusted status
- Known and missing recipes
- Current advertising activity
- Manually checked online or location information

Trainer recipes are handled separately and are not unnecessarily exchanged between addon users.

### Orders

The Orders module is designed to manage multiple customers and active enchant requests.

Features include:

- Detected enchant requests
- One-click conversion into active orders
- Manual order creation
- Customer queue
- Queue position tracking
- Active-order status
- Requested enchant and target item
- Required and received materials
- Service fee, tip, and total payment
- Completed-order history
- Automatic queue recalculation

Customers can be informed when:

- Their request has been accepted
- They have entered the queue
- Their queue position changes
- They are next in line
- They may trade
- The enchanter is currently busy
- Their order has been completed

After successful completion, the addon can send a summary containing the enchanted item, applied enchant, and received payment.

### Trade Assistant

The Trade Assistant connects an active order to the Blizzard trade window.

It can help track:

- Trade partner
- Target item
- Customer-provided materials
- Offered money
- Expected payment
- Order status
- Completion information

The assistant can also be opened without an active trade in preparation mode, allowing the enchanter to review the current customer, enchant, materials, and quick actions before the trade begins.

### Materials

The Materials section is intended to provide a complete overview of enchanting resources.

It includes or is being expanded to include:

- Material inventory
- Owned, reserved, and available quantities
- Materials reserved for active orders
- Missing materials
- Automatic and manual shopping lists
- Active-order material requirements
- Combined requirements for multiple enchants
- Shareable material lists
- Material usage statistics

Identical materials from several orders are combined into a single required total.

### Share List

The Share List prepares readable material summaries for other players.

It can be used to share:

- Materials required for one enchant
- Materials required for multiple selected enchants
- Materials required for active orders
- Only currently missing materials
- A combined shopping list

Long lists can be divided into multiple chat messages while preserving clickable item links.

### Workbench

The Workbench acts as the addon's central dashboard.

Depending on the enabled modules and available data, it can display:

- Enchanting status
- Active order
- Next action
- Additional queued orders
- Selected enchant
- Recent enchants
- Favorites
- Crafting queue
- Next craft
- Missing materials
- Shopping-list summary
- Advertisement preview
- Income summary
- Last completed order
- Review warnings
- Disenchant items

Workbench panels can be expanded or collapsed, and their state is remembered automatically.

### Market Statistics

MSBR Enchanting Buddy can collect structured market observations from relevant chat channels without permanently storing complete chat messages.

The addon extracts only useful information such as:

- Advertiser
- Requested enchant
- Advertised enchant
- Observation time
- Channel
- Demand or supply type
- Local or community source

The Statistics module can analyze:

- Active advertisers
- Competition during the last 15, 30, or 60 minutes
- Competition by enchant
- Demand by enchant
- Busiest and quietest hours
- Activity by day of the week
- Common competitor activity periods
- High-demand and low-competition opportunities
- Recipes currently advertised by no observed competitor
- Favorable times to advertise

For example, the addon may recognize that you are the only recently observed player advertising Mongoose while customers are actively searching for it.

> Market results always represent **observed activity**, not a guaranteed complete view of every enchanter on the realm.

### Community Data Sharing

Compatible Enchanting Buddy clients can exchange a minimal amount of structured information.

The system is designed to reduce unnecessary addon traffic:

- No continuous full-database broadcast
- Preliminary fingerprint comparison
- Targeted requests only when useful
- Trainer recipes excluded
- Only missing or differing data requested
- Duplicate filtering
- Rate limits and cooldowns
- Selective peer communication
- Realm- and faction-specific data
- No complete chat messages exchanged

Online market-data sharing can be disabled. Local chat observation and local statistics continue to work while sharing is disabled.

Basic addon version communication remains active so users can be informed when a newer version is observed.

### Advertisement Tools

The addon can help prepare enchanting advertisements containing selected recipes or services.

Planned and available functions may include:

- Advertisement preview
- Selected enchant rotation
- Prepared chat links
- Message templates
- Controlled posting workflow
- Market-based recommendations about what may be worth advertising

The addon does not automatically spam public channels.

### Disenchant Assistant

The Disenchant section can track items marked for disenchanting and display expected enchanting materials.

Items may be permanently hidden from the list using the **Never show again** option.

## Privacy and Chat Processing

MSBR Enchanting Buddy does not need to permanently store full chat conversations.

Relevant messages are processed immediately, and only structured information is retained, such as:

- Player name
- Enchant
- Event type
- Channel
- Timestamp
- Detected materials or price information

Unrelated messages are ignored. Raw whispers and full public-chat messages are not intended to be shared with other addon users.

## Important Beta Notice

- Features may be changed or reorganized
- SavedVariables structures may still receive migrations
- Some modules may be incomplete
- Statistics require enough observations before recommendations become reliable
- Trade and chat behavior may vary between Classic client versions
- Please keep a backup of your SavedVariables during testing
