FuBar_MotivationOnFu is a FuBar addon to calculate the drop chance of various random drop mounts.

Why calculate?

Good question. Indeed the drop chance per run is always the same. But the overall drop chance increases per run.

For example, Deathcharger's Reins (Baron Rivendare) has a drop chance of 1%. So at your first kill you have a 99% (0.99) chance for this item not to drop, so it's a 1% chance to drop. At your second kill the chance for this item not to drop decreases to 98.01% (0.99^2), so the chance to drop is 1.99%. As you can see, the overall chance for this item to drop increases. So at kill n of Baron Rivendare there is a chance of (1 - 0.99^n)*100% for this item to drop. The addon calculates the overall drop chance of several rare mounts and displays this information in its tooltip.

Although I know the calculation is a little bit odd (don't keep that in mind ;), using (and developing) this addon increased my motivation (at least a little bit) to grind the same mob over and over and over again. I hope it does the same for you.

Installation

Use Curse client to install
Restart WoW (or do a /rl if you got a previous version of this addon)

Unpack the archive file
Put the contents of the archive in your addon folder
Restart WoW (or do a /rl if you got a previous version of this addon)

Usage

The addon gathers information on previous kills of a rare mount mob from statistics. Due to this information beeing inaccurate or not available for some mobs, you have to correct this information.

You can edit the amount of your previous kills of an NPC by the menu (Right-click => NPC data => [NPC name] => Offset). Enter the amount of previous kills. If you don't know the exact amount of your previous kills, you have the guess. This has to be done only once, preferably at first run.

Items that have to be edited

Swift Razzashi Raptor (Bloodlord Mandokir, Zul'Gurub): Enter the amount of previous kills as Offset.
Swift Zulian Tiger (High Priest Thekal, Zul'Gurub): Enter the amount of previous kills as Offset.
Raven Lord (Anzu, Sethekk Halls): Enter the amount of previous kills as Offset.
Fiery Warhorse (Attumen the Huntsman, Karazhan): Enter the amount of previous kills as Offset.
Swift White Hawkstrider (Kael'thas Sunstrider, Magisters' Terrace): There's no way to decide whether you killed him on normal or heroic mode. Thus you have to subtract the amount of normal kills from the value gathered from statistics (mount only drops in heroic mode). If you killed him four times (for example) on normal mode, enter -4 as Offset.

Items that possibly have to be edited

Onyxian Drake (Onyxia, Onyxia's Lair): If you killed 'old' Onyxia after the introduction of the achievement system, you have to edit this value. If you killed old Ony eight times enter -8 as Offset value.
Ashes of Al'ar (Kael'thas Sunstrider, Tempest Keep): If you killed him before the introcution of the achievement system, you have to edit this value. If you killed him three times before enter 3 as Offset value.
Deathcharger (Baron Rivendare, Stratholme): Gathered from statistics, should be correct. If you killed him before the introduction of the achievement system, only enter the amount of kill after the drop chance increase. Changing drop rates are not supported, so the calculated overall drop chance may be incorrect.

Items that most likely have not to be edited

Grand Black War Mammoth (All bosses in Vault of Archavon): Gathered from statistics, should be correct.
Blue Proto Drake (Skadi the Ruthless): Assumimg that you also killed King Ymiron every time you killed Skadi this value should be correct.

Important: If a rare mount drops you have to reset the overall drop chance. Go to 'Menu => Item data => [Item name] => Last drop at try' and enter the number of the try the item dropped for the last time.

You can associate an item with the (sub)zone you are currently in. Go to 'Menu => Item data => [Item name] => Watch item when ...'. So the drop chance of that items is automatically displayed as FuBar text when you're in the according (sub)zone.
