v1.0.1
What's new
Changelog
1.0.1
- Targets WoW 12.1.5 (interface 120105). No behaviour changes.
1.0.0
First stable release.
- Tanks are scored on damage again. A lone tank had no damage term at all (there was no other tank to compare with), so a tank who simply didn't die and kicked a little could top the table. Their damage now counts at the tank's half weight against the top damage dealer's, capped at full marks.
- Augmentation Evokers are no longer marked down for low personal damage. Their own damage is judged against half of the top damage dealer's (full marks at or above it), they no longer count in the bar the other damage dealers are measured against, and
/mvp explainand the hover tooltip say "support" on that line. Needs the spec from inspect data; an unreadable spec is scored as before.
0.2.1
/mvp explain <n>explains a saved run, so a scoring question can be answered after the meter has been reset for the next key. The healing coverage line is computed for saved runs too.- The addon version is shown at the top of
/mvp debugand/mvp explain, so bug reports say which build they are about. /mvp explainsays "no penalty at or above" for the healing coverage line, since coverage can only ever subtract.- Released under the MIT license (
LICENSE). - Public issue tracker: https://github.com/wkerstiens/Mvp-Issues/issues.
0.2.0
Rankings window
- New flat dark window: an MVP card, an at-a-glance strip, class-coloured score bars, awards, and saved-run navigation. Hover a row to see how its score was built. Resizable, Esc closes it, and the bars animate in.
- Every player's death count is shown on their scoreboard line in the chat report and on their row in the window (including saved runs).
Scoring
- DPS, HPS and dispels are compared within a role. A lone healer is no longer handed free full marks for HPS or dispels, a lone tank is no longer ranked on DPS against the damage dealers, and damage dealers are no longer marked down for the healer's dispels.
- Avoidable damage is the share of your own damage taken that was avoidable, and deaths are
1 - deaths/3, instead of being relative to the group's worst. Both always count, so someone else's death no longer shifts your score. - Interrupt and dispel categories fade out when a run has very few of them, so one lucky dispel can't decide a ranking.
- Specs with no interrupt (Disc/Holy priest, Resto druid, Mistweaver) and classes with no dispel (warrior, death knight) are not scored on a job they can't do, unless they did it anyway.
- Healers are checked for a healing shortfall: group healing done over damage taken, with a penalty only when it falls below 75%. It never adds points, so it can't inflate a healer.
/mvp explainprints the coverage figure. - MVP highlights only say "no deaths" / "no avoidable damage" when someone else had some.
Groups
- When several people in a group run Mvp, only one posts the automatic recap to group chat (the lowest GUID among willing clients, with a timed failover and a claim message). It falls back to every client posting when no one else is heard or addon messaging is unavailable.
/mvp debugshows the state.
Foundations
- Split the addon into modules, added run history, settings, snapshots, and an AddOn Compartment entry.
- Staggered party chat output, hidden-meter-data handling, pets merged into owners, and fixes to inspect item levels, pet scoring, and stale roles.
- A plain-Lua test suite (
tests/).
0.1.0
- Initial Mythic+ recap addon: per-role MVP scoring, item level tracking and caching.
