MonkeyThreat

Presents threat as a primary UX element rather than hidden mechanic, designed to mirror modern resource bars and HUD.

MonkeyThreat

Actionable threat guidance in TBC Classic.

MonkeyThreat turns Blizzard threat data into a player-centered resource and answers one immediate question: is it safeto keep attacking?

What you see

  • A continuous arc beside your character shows current-target pressure.
  • Up to five attention eyes warn about dangerous non-target enemies without   filling the screen during large pulls.
  • Matching markers beneath visible mobs answer "which one?"
  • HOLD, EASE, and AGGRO text appears only when action is required.
  • Optional custom voice cues say Slow, Stop, and Aggro.

What makes it smart

MonkeyThreat considers more than a percentage. Its engine combines normalized pull threat with absolute headroom, how quickly that headroom is closing, recent player threat bursts, the beginning of a pull, threat resets, relevant tank ability failures, and encounter-specific controller rules.

A tank miss does not automatically create noise. It matters only when the correct controller failed and the enemy's threat lead is fragile.

Supported nonstandard TBC controllers include Krosh, Kiggler, Leotheras demon forms, and Capernian. Explicit assignments are available but optional.

Scope

  • TBC Classic Anniversary 2.5.6
  • Raids only by default
  • Optional raid-and-dungeon mode
  • No required dependencies
  • No combat-event broadcasting
  • Optional WeakAuras events for custom displays

MonkeyThreat complements rather than replaces a full threat meter on encounters where sustained threat ranking is itself the mechanic.

Commands

/mthreat opens settings. /monkeythreat is also available.

Useful commands include /mthreat preview quiet|hold|danger|aggro|multi|crowd, /mthreat content raid|dungeons, /mthreat status, and /mthreat hud.
