MissionAccomplished: Suite v1.9.16
What's new
MissionAccomplished 1.9.16
A Noctis Guides feature release on top of 1.9.15 for WoW Classic Era 1.15.9, built and checked in a live session on the owner's own client. The guide now tells you when you are close to the thing a step wants, flashes when that NPC is actually in view, puts a box over the NPC saying what to do with them, ticks off every objective, and takes the flight a step asks for. Seven places where the route stopped advancing are fixed, each found in play. All eleven packages carry the new version number. The full list is in CHANGELOG.md.
All modules
- Every module now requires MissionAccomplished: Suite as well as Core. The Suite used to be optional; it is now the one front door for menus and settings, so the client and CurseForge install it alongside any module.
Noctis Guides
New
- A guard for quests the route still needs: a warning beside Blizzard's abandon confirmation, and after an abandon a choice between "Go back for it" and "Drop from route". Its own switch, Guard Route Quests, on.
- Search spots on the maps are a small cyan crosshair about Questie's size, and step aside while Questie already marks that objective.
- A proximity indicator. The current step's pins pulse a gold ring on the world map and the minimap once you are within about sixty yards, the compass distance warms from gold to orange inside twenty, and the compass names the step's own target while you are that close. One soft click marks the moment a destination first comes close, never twice within five seconds. Each ring is entered at its own distance and given up a quarter further out, so standing on the line does not strobe the map. Distance is flat map distance, which is all the client tells an addon, so something directly above or below reads as close. Two switches on the settings page, Proximity Indicator and Proximity Sound, both on.
- The pin flashes gold with a black number while the NPC the step names is actually in view, and the compass says "is in sight". In view means what the client really reports: a nameplate for that NPC, the NPC as your target, or your cursor passing over it (held for eight seconds). Only the step's quest givers, turn in NPCs and warned about rares count, never its kill list. RestedXP reaches further by calling the protected TargetUnit from addon code and hiding the blocked action popup for every addon; that is not done here. Friendly nameplates need to be on for a quest giver to be seen from afar.
- A task tag over the current step's NPC, on their nameplate: "Turn in ...", "Accept ...", "Get the Stonetalon flight path", "Fly to Ashenvale", "Buy a Bronze Tube", each ticked as it is done. It is built from the step's own actions, keeps to three lines and a count of the rest, and leaves forbidden nameplates alone. Its own switch, NPC Task Tags, on.
- Auto-Fly. When the step says to fly somewhere, talking to the flight master opens the map and takes the step's flight. It goes through the same checks as the flight review, so it never flies in combat, on a changed step, to a destination the map does not offer, for a fare you cannot pay, or to a name that fits two nodes, and it says in chat what it did or why not. Hold Shift while opening the map to choose yourself. A step that also hands in or takes a quest there leaves the dialogue to the quest helpers. Its own switch, on.
- A box in front of every objective on the compass, ticked once the client confirms the count. The Up next line gets one too, ticked when that step is already done ahead of time, such as a quest accepted early or an item already in your bags. That check is read only and never counts a place for a step you have not reached.
Fixed
- Hearth steps finish where the hearthstone lands. The route's own "Hearth to X" now names the destination, arrival counts inside that town's inn or town hall or at your bind point, a hearth that names no place finishes on the cast, and the hearthstone cooldown gate works on 1.15.9.
- "While traveling" items reach the compass box: when a step's own action is done, the box leads with the next carried item. A route label written twice no longer hangs a shopping errand on fifty steps.
- Steps that could never finish because the route gives the quest only after a prerequisite it never hands in (Rethban Ore for a Night Elf) are released.
- Up next no longer repeats the current step when a route writes it twice.
- The party experience strip is drawn on the frame that actually shows the member, including raid-style party frames, follows frame rebuilds within a second, and a member who reloads asks the party to repeat.
- "Script ran too long" errors, and a route that looked stuck on a finished step. When many steps came due at once, the catch-up saved the route checkpoint and redrew the compass, pins and nameplate tags for every step it passed, and a long run went past the client's time limit for one event, which stopped it part way every time. It now walks the finished steps first, then saves and points the compass once, at the step it settles on.
- Hovering a party member's experience bar says how much is left to their next level as well as how much they have.
- A quest you had handed in could stay on screen as a step for good (Flagongut's quest). When the hand-in event never reached the addon's record of that attempt, the record stayed "accepted" and refused the step even though the quest was gone from the log and the client called it completed. A quest that can only be done once has no newer attempt to protect, so gone from the log with the completed flag set now counts as handed in, and the record repairs itself. Repeatable quests keep the old rule.
- The Bronze Tube steps (Fradd Swiftgear, Neal Allen, Gearcutter Cogspinner and the rest) never finished: their ".bronzetube" line was unknown to this engine and made the whole step manual. The step now goes on its own once you have a tube, in your bags or bank, or once Look To The Stars is handed in (and The Touch of Zanzil too, for a rogue). Otherwise closing the vendor finishes it, which is what the route's "skip this step if he doesn't have one" asks.
- Flight master steps written with a short name (".fp Stonetalon", ".fly Ashenvale") never finished, because the client names a node "Stonetalon Peak, Stonetalon Mountains" and only the full name or the settlement matched. A route's place now matches the whole name, the settlement, the zone (with or without "The"), or the leading whole words of either, and a name that fits two nodes still proves and picks neither.
- Setting your hearthstone never finished the step that asked for it: the Menethil inn binds as "Deepwater Tavern", its own subzone, while the route says "Menethil Harbor". A bind made while the step asks for one now counts on that event, and the name the client uses is remembered per character so it stays counted after a reload. A different inn is still a different inn.
- Task tags vanished after the next compass refresh, and never appeared for an NPC whose nameplate was already on screen when the step changed. The Classic Era client does not keep the unit token on its nameplate frames, so the rescan now asks the tokens directly.
- The dark disc inside every route pin sat low in its ring and was squashed into an ellipse. It is now a circle centred on the ring itself at every pin size, and the world map's pin toggle gets the same fix.
Bankert's Bags
- Greys sell even while a quest objective is still loading; a loading quest now holds only its own items.
- The never-sell list held six retail-only item IDs with no Classic Era use. It is empty, and a grey whose price has not loaded is named in the line.
- Equipment with no stats and no effect (Bouquet of Scarlet Begonias) is a manual sale in the Sell checklist instead of an unexplained Review, and every equipment reason reads as a sentence.
- A Review button on the bag's button row, beside Sell at a vendor and Dump junk away from one. It opens the equipment review that "Kept 6 for review" points at, which used to need /bankertsgear typed in chat, and that line now names the button.
- "Nothing to sell here" with grey items in plain sight gave no reason. The line now says how many greys were held back and by which check, for example "2 grey items held back: the quest check could not rule them out". Your own keep list and Quick Launch are left out, since you put those there.
