What does MissingHP do?

MissingHP overlays a small text label on each party and raid frame showing either the missing HP (how much health a player has lost) or their current HP (how much health they have remaining). Numbers above 1000 are automatically shortened to a decimal notation (e.g. -1.2k or 3.8k) to keep the display compact and readable at a glance.

This addon is designed for healers and raid leaders who want instant HP awareness without looking away from the action.

Features

Compatible with CompactPartyFrames, CompactRaidFrames, and grouped raid layouts (up to 40 players)
Lightweight update ticker (every 0.2 seconds) with minimal performance impact

Configurable text position — choose vertical (Top / Center / Bottom) and horizontal (Left / Center / Right) placement inside each frame, plus a fine pixel offset

Display Modes

Mode	Description
Missing HP	Shows the amount of HP lost (e.g. `-850`, `-1.2k`). Hidden when the unit is at full health.
Current HP	Shows the current remaining HP (e.g. `3750`, `3.8k`).
Current HP (injured only)	Same as Current HP, but the label is hidden when the unit is at full health.
Current HP (always shown)	Current HP displayed at all times, including when the unit is at full health.

Color Modes

Mode	Description
Fixed Gray	Always displays the text in neutral gray.
Thresholds	Green below 30% lost / Orange between 30-60% lost / Red above 60% lost.
Continuous Gradient	Smooth color transition from green (0% lost) through orange (50% lost) to red (100% lost).
Blizzard Healthbar	Mirrors the 4-color thresholds used by the native TBC health bar: Green (>=80%), Yellow (>=50%), Orange (>=20%), Dark Red (<20%).

Text Position

The label position inside each raid/party frame can be configured independently on two axes:

Axis	Options	Default
Vertical	Top / Center / Bottom	Center
Horizontal	Left / Center / Right	Center

The two settings are combined into a standard WoW anchor point (e.g. Top + Left = top-left corner of the frame).

A fine pixel offset (/mhp offset X Y) is also available for sub-pixel tweaking after choosing a position preset.

Position changes apply instantly to all visible frames without needing a reload.

Slash Commands

Use /mhp for quick control without opening the menu:

/mhp on                      -- Enable the addon

/mhp display current full    -- Current HP, shown even at 100% health

/mhp pos top                 -- Align text to the top of the frame

/mhp pos left                -- Align text to the left of the frame
/mhp pos hcenter             -- Align text to the horizontal center (default)
/mhp pos right               -- Align text to the right of the frame

/mhp offset <x> <y>          -- Fine pixel offset (e.g. /mhp offset 5 -3)

Typing /mhp alone prints the current status, active position, and all available commands.

Minimap Button

Left-click drag to reposition the button around the minimap. Position is saved.
Right-click to open the settings menu (includes vertical and horizontal position selectors).
Hover to see a tooltip with the current configuration, including active position and offset.

Installation

Download and extract the MissingHP folder.
Place it in your World of Warcraft\_tbc_\Interface\AddOns\ directory.
Restart the game or reload your UI (/reload).
The minimap button will appear automatically.
