# Meteora Raid Tool — Guide

---

## Installation (one time)

1. Download the ZIP from the **[latest release](https://github.com/Madeline-exe/MeteoraRaidTool/releases/latest)**.
2. Extract into `World of Warcraft\_classic_\Interface\AddOns\`. You should end up with a folder `Interface\AddOns\MeteoraRaidTool\`.
3. (Recommended) Install **AtlasLoot Classic** from CurseForge — it's needed for one-click import of drop tables.
4. Log into the game → `/reload` or relog.
5. A small die icon should appear on the minimap — that's the addon button. Left-click to open, right-click for settings. `/mrt` or `/meteora` also work.

**The addon must be installed on everyone in your group.** Otherwise they won't receive reserve data. This is a basic requirement of any SR tool. For those without the addon, there's a separate whisper flow (see below).

## Raid leading — step by step

### Before the raid

1. **Open the window**: `/mrt` or left-click the minimap icon.
2. **Select your raid** in the dropdown at the top (Karazhan, Gruul, Magtheridon, etc.).
3. **Load the drop table**. Two options:
- **Automatically**: click "Import from AtlasLoot" → confirm → all epics from all bosses of the selected raid load in seconds.
- **Manually**: click "Edit" → each boss gets an input field → open AtlasLoot, shift+click the desired item to insert it into the field → "Add". Repeat for each item. When done — "Done".
4. **SR Limit**: top-right field "SR Limit" — set how many items a single player can reserve (usually 1–2).
5. **"Open Reserves"**. Players in the group with the addon can now place SRs.

### If there are pugs without the addon

6. **"Ask Pug"**. The addon automatically finds everyone in the raid who doesn't have Meteora and whispers them instructions: "send me links of items you want to reserve".
7. When the pug whispers you a shift+click link, the addon automatically parses it and reserves the item. You get a chat message `[SR via whisper] Name: +2 / -0`, and the pug gets a confirmation.
8. In the reserves list, pugs have a `[W]` tag next to their name — you can see they reserved via whisper.

### During combat

- On pull, reserves **automatically close**. No one can change their SR during the fight. The reserve snapshot is saved in "SR History".
- When a boss dies and you open loot — **epics are automatically placed in "Distribution"**; the window doesn't pop up on its own. You can safely close the loot on the corpse — items won't disappear.

9. After the fight → **"Distribution"** tab. You see the list of dropped items by boss, with each item's list of reservers underneath.
10. Each item has three options:
- **"Roll by SR"** — announces in RAID_WARNING, only those who reserved can roll. Others' /roll are ignored. Auto-stops after 30 seconds.
- **"Free roll"** — announces, anyone who wants can roll.
- **"Give"** (with dropdown) — direct award without a roll.
11. The **"Give"** button logs the award in history and queues the item for auto-trade to the winner.
12. **Open trade with the winner** → the item automatically jumps into the trade slot. You just need to click "Trade".

### After the raid

13. **"Stats"** tab — top players by loot received. Click a name to see that player's full history.
14. **"Copy"** button — a ready-made markdown table for Discord. Paste into chat inside a code block ` ```…``` `.

## Player — what to do

1. Open `/mrt` → **"Reserves"** tab.
2. Wait for the RL to select the raid and open reserves. Until then you'll see "Raid: … Reserves: CLOSED".
3. When opened — each item has a `+` button on the left. Click to reserve, `−` to remove.
4. Top-right shows your counter: `Your reserves: 1 / 2` (current and max).
5. On pull, SRs freeze automatically. If you made it in time — you made it.
6. After the fight, you don't do anything in the **"Distribution"** tab — that's for the RL. Just roll `/roll` in chat when the RL gives the signal.

## Pug — what to do (without the addon)

1. You'll receive a whisper from the RL: "[Meteora SR] Raid: …. You can reserve up to N items. Send me links of the items you want."
2. Open AtlasLoot or Wowhead, find what you want.
3. Shift+click the item in chat — the link will appear in your whisper box.
4. Send it to the RL. You can send multiple links in one message.
5. You'll receive back `Reserved: [item1], [item2]` or an explanation why not (`not in drop table`, `limit reached`, etc.).

## FAQ

**Does everyone need the addon or only the RL?**
Ideally everyone — otherwise players can't reserve via the UI (they'll have to go through whisper as a pug). They also won't be able to see the loot table. But for the RL themselves, the functionality works solo.

**What if the RL disconnects?**
Each client keeps its own copy of data. The new RL opens `/mrt` and sees the same drop table, same loot pool, same history. Whisper reserves switch automatically — whoever is RL at the moment handles the whispers.

**Reset everything (new raid)?**
- "Reset all" in the Reserves tab — clears current raid's reserves.
- "Reset pool" in the Distribution tab — clears dropped items.
- Boss drop tables are **not reset** — they're permanent. You only need to import once.

**How to delete old history?**
Not possible from the UI right now. History is limited to 100 entries (FIFO), old ones automatically fall off. If you really need to wipe it — SavedVariables `WTF\Account\<acct>\SavedVariables\MeteoraRaidToolDB.lua`, delete the file, relog.

**I reserved an item, but the window still shows `+` instead of `−`?**
Possibly reserves aren't open yet, or you've hit the limit, or the item isn't in the current raid's drop table. Check chat — there should be an explanation from the addon.

**AtlasLoot import doesn't find items / finds junk.**
Make sure you have **AtlasLoot Classic** installed (not another version). If AtlasLoot has been opened in-game at least once and the import is still empty — `/mrt atlasdump`, paste the output in an issue. If it imports items that shouldn't be there — same thing.

**Food doesn't show up in Consumables.**
`/mrt buffs` — you'll see all your buffs with spell IDs. If food is there but the category is `-` (unrecognized), paste the output in an issue — I'll add it to the spell-pattern matching database.

**The addon lags.**
If you're using a version older than v0.8.2 — update. There's a fix for lag from constant re-rendering and aura scanning. v1.0 should have no issues.

**How to disable the minimap icon?**
Only through SavedVariables for now (`db.profile.minimap.hide = true`). Will be in settings via `/mrt config` in the future.

## Troubleshooting

Lags during combat on pull / with buffs	Update to v1.0 (fix for UNIT_AURA bucketing)

## What the addon does NOT do

Just to be clear:

- **DPS meter** — use Skada / Details for that
- **Boss timers/tactics** — use DBM / BigWigs for that
- **Cooldown tracking** — use OmniCD / WeakAuras for that
- **Auto-upload to WCL** — use WoW Combat Log Uploader for that
- **DKP / EPGP / bidding** — guild economy is not modeled (only basic SR / rolls)
- **Wishlist** — separate "wants" outside a raid session are not tracked
