MetaPerl

MetaPerl is a customizable unit-frame addon for World of Warcraft, bringing player, target, pet, party, and raid information into a consistent interface with META styling.

Built from TPerl, MetaPerl combines its configurable unit frames with a dark options interface, selectable accent colors, and compatibility changes for Retail and WoW Forever.

Customize Your Frames

Adjust frame placement, scale, appearance, and information displays to suit your layout. Configure player, target, target-of-target, pet, party, and raid frames through the included options panels.

Display health, power, portraits, cast bars, buffs, and debuffs using the available settings. Individual modules let you enable the frame types and supporting tools you want to use.

META Styling

The options interface uses dark backgrounds with selectable accent colors and opacity controls. Existing TPerl settings remain available within the META presentation.

The Forever edition also includes adjustments that attach target and target-of-target debuffs directly beneath their frames, with buffs positioned above. Numerical aura countdowns remain visible while radial cooldown shading is disabled in those target modules.

Retail and WoW Forever

MetaPerl provides separate downloads for Retail and WoW Forever. Install the package that matches your game client.

The current Retail package targets version 12.1.0. The Forever package targets beta version 1.60.1. Compatibility may change as Blizzard updates either client.

Installation

Extract the matching ZIP into your game’s Interface/AddOns folder. Keep all included MetaPerl folders together and enable the modules you want from the character-selection AddOns menu.

Disable TPerl, Z-Perl, or other addons replacing the same unit frames to avoid overlapping interfaces.

Enter /metaperl in chat to access the addon’s controls.

Beta Status

MetaPerl is currently in beta. The packages have passed Lua compilation and file-reference checks, but complete gameplay testing across classes, group sizes, and combat situations is still ongoing. The Retail edition requires additional in-game validation.

Some inherited options may not work consistently with the changing Forever API. A reported Forever client issue may also prevent settings and positions from persisting between sessions. This release does not include an external profile backup or import system.

When reporting an issue, include your game version, MetaPerl version, the steps that triggered the problem, and any Lua error text available.

Credits and License

MetaPerl is an independent modified fork of TPerl by TULOA, which builds on the work of Z-Perl and X-Perl contributors. Original authorship and license notices are preserved in the package.
