Merchant's Favor

Ranks every Waylaid Crate and bundle by net cost per Merchant's Favor, using a built-in Auction House scan.

Merchant's Favor finds the cheapest way to earn Merchant's Favor with Waylaid Crates.

It knows all 30 Waylaid Crates and every bundle that fills them, prices them from the Auction House and ranks every option by net silver per Merchant's Favor, so you can see at a glance which crate is worth filling right now.

Features

  • Ranking window (/mf or the MF List button at the Auction House): every crate and bundle combination, sorted by net cost per Favor. Hover a row to see the full shopping list.
  • Buy or craft: for crafted (green) bundles the addon checks every step and picks whatever is cheaper, buying the item or crafting it from its materials.
  • Built-in Auction House scan: click MF Scan at the Auction House. It looks up all needed items in a few seconds. No other addon is required.
  • Crate tooltip: the tooltip of a Waylaid Crate shows its Favor value, the cheapest bundle and the cost per Favor.
  • Your own situation: options to show crafting, limit it to your own professions, count materials in your bags and bank as free, and hide rows that are missing a price.
  • Turn-in logging: when you turn in a sealed crate, the addon records how much Favor you actually received. From then on it uses your recorded value for that tier and bundle type instead of the built-in one.
  • Manual overrides for prices and Favor values.
  • English and German client support.

How it is calculated

Net per Favor = (crate price + bundle cost − refund) / Favor

  • Refund: 50 copper per Favor.
  • Favor per crate: Apprentice 5 / 10, Journeyman 10 / 20, Expert 15 / 30, Artisan 20 / 40 (gathered / crafted bundle). Values marked with ~ are still estimates. Recorded turn-ins replace them automatically.
  • Prices are the lowest current Auction House listing. Buying large amounts can cost more.

Commands

Command What it does
/mf Open or close the ranking window
/mf scan Scan prices (Auction House must be open)
/mf price <item> <amount> Set a manual price, e.g. /mf price 4382 29s (clear removes it)
/mf favor <crate> <number> Override the Favor value of a crate (clear resets it)
/mf log Show recorded crate turn-ins (/mf log clear deletes them)

Items can be given as an item ID or by shift-clicking them into the chat line. On a German client the commands are /mf preis, /mf mf and /mf abgaben, with weg instead of clear.

Status

This is a beta. The Favor values and the turn-in logging are still being checked in game, and the AddOns folder name of the client may change at launch. Bug reports and measured Favor values are very welcome in the comments.
