v0.21.3-forever
What's new
- World Marker: cleaner and smaller. A smaller flag mark, a slim beam that stands still with a small glow at its foot, and near the place one gold chevron pointing down instead of three rippling ones.
- World Marker: the Wisp (Route > Arrow & Marker: Firefly, Embers or Off). When you pick a new destination, a small light takes off from your character at once, rises, hangs a beat and darts to the place, the same flight every time, and lights it: the beam rises and the mark pops in as it lands. It follows the place as you turn the camera; with the place off the screen it settles into the arrow beside your character.
- Quest Tracker: Progress Motion (Quest Tracker > Look, on). A count going up rolls over to its new number as a soft light runs along its line, a finished objective gets a tick in its dash's place, and a finished quest's last count rolls first before a light runs over its title, its map button turns to the hand-in ? and its turn-in line comes in. It takes the place of the glow behind a line that counted up.
- Bags by Kind: Loot Flight (Windows > Bags, on). An item you loot flies from where you picked it up into its slot, or onto the bag button with the bags closed, and the rarer it is the more it does: a green streak, blue rays and a ring, purple sparks and a shockwave, and a legendary rising in a pillar of light, flashing the bag window's border and saying its name. Turning in a quest, its reward item flies the same way and its money flies as coins into the bag window's money, which counts up as they land.
- Unit Frames: party members show their level in a circle at their portrait, as your player frame does (the game's party frame has none), in your Level Orb look.
- Unit Frames: Level Up (Unit Frames > Frame > Look, player, on). Gaining a level turns your player frame's level number over to the new one with a ring of light, runs a light along the experience bar, and the notice says the level and how many quests it opened in your zone; their givers pop onto the world map the next time it shows them.
- Route: Route Draws In (Route > Route > Look, on). A new route grows from you to the destination on the world map and the minimap, the beads popping in one after another or the line drawn with a light at its head, and the flag pops in as it arrives.
- The new animations play by command to see them: /mello route draw, arrive or wisp; /mello tracker progress; /mello bags loot (poor to legendary, or all) and /mello bags coins; /mello player level.
- Route: Arrival Light (Route > Arrow & Marker, on). As you arrive (at a pin, at a followed quest's giver or turn-in, or into its objective area), the place is put out: the marker's mark sinks onto it in a ring of light with a few sparks, and the Direction Arrow's ring closes, a light running round it, before its row fades away.
- Configurator: the link rows and a few option names (Painted Kit Reskin, Reskin Brightness, Discard Button On Loot and others) are written in Title Case like every other name, and four help texts name the rows they mean instead of pointing above or below.
- Quest List: quest titles, levels and the levels to pick them up now come from the game itself, and 75 more of Forever's quests are listed (on the map once their quest giver is known).
- Data from the game's latest patch: Big Cooldowns knows Sniper Shot and Will of the Forsaken, Heal Effects knows Rotmending, and the weapon buff reminder knows the patch's new sharpening stones, Lesser Wizard Oil and the Scroll of Imbue Chillknife; two spells the patch took out are gone. Spells that only break you free and keep you from being controlled (Will of the Forsaken, Berserker Rage, Escape Artist, the PvP trinket) count as immunities in Big Cooldowns, shown first.
- Route knows many more roads (recorded in game) and finds better ways with them; turn-in and pick-up places know the Riverglades and Mount Hyjal flight points, Stormwind Harbor, Coldridge Valley and the crafting shops.
- Cleaner and quicker after a login or /reload: the interface stays out of sight until MelloUI has dressed all of it, then fades in at once, instead of the game's own look showing first and MelloUI's arriving piece by piece. Preload Artwork loads its pictures during the loading screen again, your party frames (in a raid, your raid frames) and the Personal Display are there with the rest, Route is ready to guide you about three times sooner ("Loading navigation..."), the Services buttons no longer all go grey for a few seconds, and what the Fader fades starts faded.
- Tooltip: Hide Issue Report Line (Tooltip > Look, on). The beta's "Press F6 to submit an issue for this ..." line, and the gap above it, are left out of tooltips; the key still opens the issue report.
- Fixed: Route sent you cross-country, or the long way round, from or to a place whose nearest roads are a side road or a lone point not joined to the rest; such a place now also finds its way onto the nearest main road.
- Fixed: with the Personal Display set to fade in the Fader (In Combat or On Mouseover), an invisible layer over the whole screen caught the mouse, so right-click no longer turned the camera.
