Max Adventure Journal TBC V1.8.1
What's new
# 1.8.1-tbc
- Added the **Network** button to the main menu.
- Added real-time discovery of online guild members currently running Max Adventure Journal TBC.
- Added a normal movable Guild Network window showing character, class, level, addon version and current zone.
- Added manual **Refresh**, automatic refresh while the window is open, and `/maj network`.
- Discovery uses the private WoW addon-message channel for the guild; no public chat message is produced.
- Added compatibility with both `C_ChatInfo` and the legacy Classic addon-message API.
- Added randomized replies, scan throttling and stale-result cleanup to reduce guild addon traffic.
- The main-menu button displays the number of MAJ users detected during the current scan.
# 1.8.0-tbc
- Added **Writing Engine 3.0**, replacing the generic long-form generator for complete parchment chronicles.
- Added location-aware environmental interpretation using the detected zone, dungeon, instance and chapter segments.
- Integrated the matched local lore topic directly into the narrative without introducing scenery unsupported by the location.
- Added environmental vocabularies for fungal marshes, fel battlefields, tomb complexes, haunted towers, volcanic fortresses, plague zones, deserts, forests, frozen regions, arcane complexes, titan halls, cities, caves, coasts and void-altered areas.
- Added editorial anti-repetition control for paragraph similarity, repeated structures and template residue such as `quest(s)` or `hostile contact(s)`.
- Added automatic scene inference when the client records only one chapter segment.
- Improved climax detection using combat, deaths, PvP, recovery, healing, loot, quests, notes and segment duration.
- Added concrete class-role narration for every supported class instead of referring to the protagonist as “the character”.
- Added validated companion deduplication, retaining the most reliable positive level and removing duplicate or unknown identities from the prose.
- Added narrative profile pronouns through `/maj profile pronoun auto|he|she|they`.
- Added three output modes: **Narrative**, **Compact**, and **Full**, selectable from Settings or `/maj exportmode narrative|compact|full`.
- Set **Compact** as the new editorial default, preserving a concise expedition record beneath the literary chronicle.
- Removed false travel phrasing when the start and end zones are identical.
- Replaced generic moral conclusions with endings grounded in the actual location, combat count, companions, loot, reputation and progression recorded during the run.
- Preserved the previous guild/party RP compact output and all existing archive, reader, copy, GDR and privacy functions.
# 1.7.7-tbc
- Rebuilt external text selection for Microsoft Word compatibility.
- Removed WoW color, texture, atlas and hyperlink control codes before export.
- Added UTF-8 validation and removal of hidden control bytes that could make Word reject pasted text.
- Replaced byte-count selection with full EditBox selection and deferred focus restoration.
- Renamed the parchment action to **Select All** to clarify that Ctrl+C is still required by the WoW client.
- Preserved the selected text when changing application focus.
- Reordered the main menu for faster use: history browsing is now grouped more clearly and the old **Latest / Older / Newer** labels were replaced with **Recent / Prev / Next**.
- The menu now shows the number of saved stories and the currently selected story, so **Read** is easier to understand before opening the parchment.
## 1.7.4-tbc
- Corrected the parchment **Read** command so it opens the history entry currently selected with **Latest**, **Older**, or **Newer**.
- The reader no longer forces the newest chronicle when an older archived story is selected.
- Copy continues to use the complete parchment text of the selected story.
New in v1.7.3-tbc:
- Reworked the parchment reader typography with built-in fantasy fonts: Morpheus for headings and Friz Quadrata for body text.
- Copy now uses a Word-ready plain-text formatter that removes empty spacer paragraphs and trailing whitespace.
- The full parchment chronicle remains the copied source; the shorter main-menu summary is not used.
- Reduced parchment line-height estimation for a denser, more book-like reading layout.
- Note: World of Warcraft exposes copied EditBox content as plain text, so Word controls the final external font; the exported hierarchy and spacing are now optimized for high-quality paste results.
