- Saved variables: `defaultMarkIndex` is validated (integer 1–8; invalid or non-number values reset to 8). `panelAlpha` is clamped to 0.1–1 so corrupted saves cannot break the panel or slider.

- Saved position: `panelPosition` is applied only when the stored table has the expected types; otherwise it is cleared so the panel falls back to CENTER instead of erroring on load.

- Slash commands: `/marktarget` and `/mt` always run `InitializeSettings()` first so the settings table exists even if `SavedVariables` were missing on first run.

Fixed

- Settings UI: guard against registering the options category twice after `/reload`, which could duplicate the addon in the list on some clients.
