Overview

Mark of the Tank (MOTT) automatically builds and maintains a Misdirection or Tricks of the Trade macro so you never have to update it manually when your tank changes.

Use the minimap button to select your target. The addon updates your macro instantly.

When you join a group, MOTT detects the tank and switches automatically.
When you leave:

Hunter: Falls back to pet
Rogue: Keeps last selected target

All settings are saved per character.

Auto Macro Management

Automatically creates and updates your macro when targets or spell availability change.

Auto-Tank Detection

Detects main tank or assigned role on group changes. Works in party and raid.

Smart Talent Awareness

Detects if Misdirection is available and adjusts behavior accordingly.

Combat Safe

Queues macro updates during combat and applies them after combat ends.

Config Panel

Accessible with: /mott
Rename your macro, view the active target, and toggle options.

Hunter — Misdirection

Defaults to pet on load
Auto-switches to tank in groups
Falls back to pet when leaving
Tracks live pet name
Handles pet summon/dismiss

Rogue — Tricks of the Trade

Defaults to focus on load
Auto-switches to tank in groups
All target options supported
Spell always available

Usage

Type /mott to open the configuration panel.

Rename macro
View active target
Toggle automation

Minimap Controls

Left-click: Open target selector
Right-click: Open config panel
