MapWise is an all-in-one world map, terrain map, quest search and dungeon information addon built for World of Warcraft: Forever.

Explore detailed terrain maps, search for quests, NPCs, items, herbs, mining nodes and important locations, discover dungeon bosses and their available loot, and find useful travel and service locations — all directly inside your World Map.

Instead of constantly switching between WoW, database websites and external maps, MapWise brings your exploration tools and searchable game information together in one interface.

MapWise transforms the traditional World Map into an interactive atlas with searchable information.

Choose between three map modes:

Classic Map – The familiar illustrated World of Warcraft map.

Terrain Map – A detailed top-down terrain view using the game's terrain textures, making roads, buildings, paths and landscape features easier to recognize.

Automatic Mode – Seamlessly switches between the classic map and terrain view based on your zoom level.

Additional map features

• Zoom and pan across supported maps.

• Automatically focus your current zone when opening the map.

• Follow your character's position.

• Jump back to your current location with one click.

• Display player and cursor coordinates.

• Navigate between continents and zones.

• Center the map on selected search results.

MapWise includes a searchable in-game database covering a variety of World of Warcraft content.

Finding crafting materials should not require searching multiple websites.

MapWise helps you locate known gathering spots and resource information across Azeroth.

Gathering features

• Search for herbs such as Dreamfoil and other gathering resources.

• Discover known herb and ore locations on the World Map.

• Browse resource locations by zone.

• View related NPCs and item sources when available.

• Look up vendors, profession connections and related quest information.

• Find known sources associated with skinning and other materials.

Related database records are combined into clearer search results where appropriate, reducing unnecessary duplicates.

MapWise displays known locations; it does not automatically calculate optimized farming routes.

📜 Quest Search & Quest Information

Use MapWise to find quest-related information directly on the map.

Depending on available database information, you can look up:

• Quest objectives and descriptions

• Quest givers and turn-in NPCs

• Known quest locations

• Required items and prerequisites

• Quest rewards

• Related NPCs and item sources

For supported dungeon quests, MapWise can also display your character's quest status:

• Not accepted

• In quest log

• Ready to turn in

• Completed

Completion dates are recorded when MapWise observes the completion itself.

The compact map view can also display Blizzard's native quest panel alongside the map, keeping your quests and location information accessible together.

Select a boss to open its details and available loot list in the information sidebar while keeping the dungeon map visible.

Known boss and quest locations can be marked on supported maps.

Where reliable interior coordinates are unavailable, MapWise does not invent boss positions.

⚔️ Boss Loot, Mob Drops & Drop Rates

Looking for a specific piece of equipment or wondering what a dungeon boss can drop?

MapWise provides available boss loot tables, trash mob loot information and known drop chances for supported content.

Loot information

• Browse available loot from dungeon and raid bosses.

• View known trash mob drops.

• Inspect item details and regular WoW item tooltips.

• Review available drop-rate information.

• Identify known loot sources and related content.

Where applicable, historical WoW Classic reference drop rates are distinguished from verified WoW Forever information.

Not every boss, creature or item currently has complete loot data.

Personal Loot Tracking

MapWise can also record your own loot observations in supported instances.

Track:

• Items observed during dungeon runs

• How often items were observed

• Observed quantities

• Items your character personally received

• Last recorded acquisition

Personal loot details can supplement regular item tooltips.

Tracking begins when MapWise records the relevant events. Previous dungeon runs and historical loot are not reconstructed.

🎮 Compatibility

Designed for World of Warcraft: Forever (1.60.1).

MapWise is currently focused on WoW Forever. General compatibility with Retail, Classic Era, Burning Crusade Classic or other WoW versions is not guaranteed.

MapWise supports English, German, French, Spanish and Russian, automatically selected according to your WoW client language.

The interface is localized, and available quests, NPCs, items, resources and zones use their established in-game names. Localization coverage varies by content; missing translations, particularly for Forever-specific content, fall back to English. Other client languages also use English.

Important information

MapWise is continuously evolving alongside the available Forever content and its database.

Coverage varies between zones, quests, NPCs, dungeons and raids. Some information, including boss positions, loot sources and drop rates, may be incomplete or unavailable.

MapWise provides information and map tools. It does not automate gameplay actions.
