Magic Eraser

2026.08.25.A (2026-08-26)

Full Changelog Previous Releases

Updated images and adjusted content for clarity.
  • Update README to remove obsolete features

  • Merge pull request #16 from Gogo1951/release-prep

    Fixed

Quest items no longer get erased while you still need them. 35 entries were
keyed to the wrong quest, so an item could count as spent before the quest that
actually consumes it. Both Lord Valthalak's Amulet pieces, Linken's Tempered
Sword, the Barrel of Plagueland Termites and every Orphan Whistle were affected.
Lord Valthalak's Amulet and the Demon Scarred Cloak are now never erased at all.
27 items taken off the vendor-trash list, including Shiny Fish Scales, Fish
Oil, the Crown of the Fire Festival, Battle Tested Blade and Winter Boots.
Switching profiles sticks. Moving a character onto a different profile used
to snap back at the next login.

    New

Maximum Value to Erase. Set a ceiling and Magic Eraser will never erase an
item or stack worth more than it. Runs 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21 gold, off by
default. It guards the eraser only, so anything over the ceiling still sells at a
merchant and still walks home from your bank. You keep the gold either way.
Quest starters are now cleanup targets. 201 items that hand you a quest are
recognized, and they clear out for two reasons: the quest is already done, or
your race or class can never take it. A Paladin tome in a Rogue's bags is dead
weight the moment it drops, and now you get told so.

    Improved

More trash recognized. 54 more white items on the curated list.
Every language caught up. All ten translations are complete, including the
new Maximum Value to Erase panel.
  • Release prep: retire migrations, finish localization, refresh data and docs
    Code review fixes:
    • Delete the expired migration chain. The 2026-08-15 cutoff has passed, so
the TOC's SavedVariablesPerCharacter line and all five MIGRATION blocks in
ns:OnPlayerLogin are gone, along with the legacy ignoreLists branch in the
diagnostics dump. OnPlayerLogin is now the AceDB create plus normal login
work. This also fixes the login-time profile snap-back, which was migration
behavior rather than the per-character model.
    • Render the Free-Slot Threshold as a sub-option row, matching every other
dependent control on the General panel.
    • Comment sweep: correct stale claims in the Equipment header and the safety
guard, convert stacked -- comment runs to block comments, and replace the
      non-standard banners with house dividers.
      Localization:
    • Bring all ten non-English locales to full parity with enUS at 90 keys each.
Adds the Maximum Value to Erase block and the two quest-unavailable strings,
70 translations in total. Placeholder count, type and order verified against
enUS on every key; zero orphans in every file.
Also carries accumulated local work: the Quest-Starting-Items data table,
refreshed Equipment and Quest-Items tables, and README updates.

  • Normalize line endings to LF per .gitattributes
The repo carries .gitattributes with '* text=auto eol=lf', but the one-time
renormalization that pairs with it was never run, so committed blobs were
still CRLF. This is that one-time pass; no file contents change.

  • Add .luacheckrc to package metadata
  • Add .luacheckrc configuration file
