Madness is a challenge addon that slowly distorts your perception of Azeroth as your sanity declines. What begins as a few unsettling sights and sounds gradually becomes a fight to separate reality from illusion. Designed with Hardcore players in mind, Madness adds an entirely new layer of tension, immersion, and paranoia to every journey.

Sanity

Sanity decreases by 1 point every minute.

Recovery

Resting at an inn or near a campfire restores 5 points of sanity per minute.
Gaining a profession skill level restores 3 points of sanity.

Madness Levels

Lucid (81–100)

Occasional C'Thun tunnel vision effects.

Paranoid (61–80)

Minor corruption of quest text.
Background audio effects.
Compatible with Questie and RestedXP.

Disturbed (41–60)

Spells on action bars begin to change.
Increased corruption of quest text.

Fractured (21–40)

Additional spells become corrupted.
Your health bar and enemy health bars are reversed.
Heavy quest text corruption.
Compatible with Plater.

Lost (0–20)

Additional spell corruption.
NPCs appear hostile.
Enemy levels become unknown.
All enemies appear to be elite.
Quest text and tooltips become completely unreadable.
