Macro Forever

A guided macro workshop with class examples, spell sequences, item use, quest messages and graphics presets.

Macro Forever

Build WoW macros with a guided workshop instead of starting from a blank text box.

Macro Forever helps you browse examples, choose learned spells or bag items, customize targeting and sequences, and review generated text before creating a native WoW macro.

Features

  • Character-aware spell selection using your class, level and learned spellbook.
  • 149 class examples for all nine classes, including 59 cast sequences.
  • Browse and copy examples for other classes or spells you have not learned.
  • Groups for spells, buffs, items, gathering, leveling, quests and console presets.
  • Sequences with up to eight steps, reordering, targeting and reset controls.
  • Searchable bag-item picker with quantities and equipment-slot macros.
  • Editable quest requests, party messages and player mouseover whispers.
  • Graphics presets and scenery On/Off macros. Shift restores client defaults.
  • Icon favorites, character drafts and short suggested macro names.
  • Preview and byte counter before creation. Existing macros are not overwritten.
  • Minimap button compatible with MinimapButtonButton.

Getting started

  1. Install and enable Macro Forever, then reload.
  2. Type /mforever or click the minimap button.
  3. Choose a class and example group, or start a new macro.
  4. Customize spells, items, targeting or sequence steps.
  5. Review the preview, choose a name and click Create macro.
  6. Open /macro and drag the new macro onto an action bar.

To copy text, click Copy: select text, then Ctrl+C, then press Ctrl+C. The button selects text; it does not directly access the system clipboard.

Compatibility

This beta targets WoW Forever, Interface 16001. Retail and other Classic variants are not currently claimed as supported. No other addon is required.

Optional companions: MinimapButtonButton, BugGrabber and BugSack. An open Macro Toolkit editor is refreshed after successful creation. The short /mf command can conflict with other addons; /mforever is preferred.

Limitations

This addon builds native macros. It does not provide automatic combat rotations or make range, cooldown or resource decisions. Each successful cast-sequence step requires a press. Failed spells can stall the sequence.

The builder uses a conservative 255-byte macro limit and 16-byte name limit. Copying unavailable examples does not make their spells available to your character.

The trailing null option is experimental and has been reported unreliable on Forever. New examples leave it disabled. A native sequence cannot repeatedly remain on its last successful spell indefinitely.

Graphics values are suggested presets, not guaranteed maxima. The client may reject or clamp them, and greater detail can reduce FPS. Defaults are not your previous custom settings. Graphics macros using /mfgraphics need Macro Forever enabled; uninstalling does not undo applied settings.

Beta status and feedback

Macro creation has been tested in-game by the author. Local tests cover generation, storage guards and simulated UI/API behavior. The complete library, latest styling, graphics settings and interactions have not all been verified in-game.

Report problems through project comments with your game build, addon version, steps to reproduce, generated macro and BugSack error. /mforever debug provides spellbook details for discovery issues.
