Lvl1QuickSetup

Lvl1QuickSetup is a World of Warcraft Classic addon designed for speedrunners, challenge runners, and players who regularly create new characters.

The addon lets you configure a character once, save the setup, and automatically apply that configuration to newly created level-one characters of the same class.

Instead of manually rebuilding macros, keybinds, action bars, interface settings, and HUD layouts every time, Lvl1QuickSetup restores the saved profile shortly after the character enters the world.

Main Features

Automatic Level-One Setup

Lvl1QuickSetup automatically detects fresh level-one characters and restores the saved setup for their class.

The restoration process is spread across multiple frames to reduce login-time CPU spikes and avoid WoW’s “script ran too long” limit, even when many other addons are loading at the same time.

Macros

The addon can save and restore:

• Account-wide macros
• Character-specific macros
• Macro names
• Macro icons
• Macro text
• Macro action-bar placement

Existing macros with the same name are updated when their contents differ.

Lvl1QuickSetup also handles characters that have been deleted and recreated with the same name by detecting the new character GUID and cleaning inherited character-specific data before applying the setup.

Keybindings

Saved keybindings are automatically restored for the selected class profile.

Binding changes are applied in batches to reduce the amount of work performed during a single frame.

Action Bars

Lvl1QuickSetup saves and restores action slots 1 through 180, including:

• Main Action Bar
• Action Bars 2–5
• Action Bars 6–8 introduced in Classic 1.15.9
• Spells
• Macros
• Items and consumables

Item actions are stored using their item IDs and verified after placement.

If an item is unavailable or its data has not loaded yet, the addon requests the item information and retries the failed placement.

Blizzard Action Bar Options

The addon saves whether Blizzard’s Action Bars 2–8 are enabled in Interface Options.

When the setup is restored, the same checked or unchecked action-bar settings are applied through Blizzard’s current Settings API.

Lvl1QuickSetup does not directly manipulate Blizzard’s protected action-bar frames or deprecated action-bar globals.

Edit Mode Layout Selection

Lvl1QuickSetup saves the currently selected Blizzard Edit Mode layout and automatically selects it when restoring the profile.

The addon records:

• Layout name
• Layout type
• Layout index

Custom layouts are primarily matched by name and type, preventing the wrong layout from being selected if other layouts are added, deleted, or reordered.

For layouts that need to work across multiple characters, an account-wide Edit Mode layout should be used. Character-specific layouts may not exist on a newly created character.

Saving a Setup

Configure the source character exactly as desired, including:

• Macros
• Keybindings
• Spells and items on action bars
• Blizzard Action Bars 2–8
• Edit Mode layout
• Supported addon settings

Then run:

/run saveAll()

You can also use:

/l1qssave

The addon will display a summary showing how many macros, keybindings, action slots, Blizzard options, and Edit Mode settings were saved.

After saving, log out normally or use /reload so World of Warcraft writes the SavedVariables file.

Commands

/l1qssave

Saves the current character setup for the character’s class.

/l1qsload

Manually loads the saved setup.

/l1qsstatus

Displays information about the currently saved class profile and whether setup has already been applied to the current character.

/l1qsversion

Displays the installed addon version and action-slot scan range.

The original command remains supported:

/run saveAll()

An additional compatibility alias is also available:

/run L1QS_SaveAll()

Important Notes

• Save profiles are organized by class.
• A profile must be saved before it can be restored.
• Edit Mode layouts intended for new characters should be saved as account-wide layouts.
• Items must be present in the character’s inventory to be placed successfully.
• Action-bar visibility is restored through Blizzard’s Interface Options rather than direct protected-frame manipulation.
• Setup restoration pauses safely if combat begins.
• Existing profiles from earlier versions remain compatible, although newly added settings require the profile to be saved again before they can be restored.

Designed for World of Warcraft Classic Era client version 1.15.9 and its updated addon API.
