Description

LumenUI — a focused UI suite for World of Warcraft

⚠️ Public Beta. The Raidframes module is complete and battle-tested; more modules are on the way. Expect a few rough edges — and please report them, it genuinely helps.

Honest heads-up — what this is

LumenUI started out of boredom — a little project for me and a few friends, just to see how far you can actually get. I'm a UI/UX designer, not a programmer: I drive the design, UX and direction, and the code is written with AI (Claude Code by Anthropic) in a tight design-and-iterate loop. It grew into something we genuinely use in Mythic+ and raid, so we're sharing it as a public Beta. Treat it with the honesty of a hobby project — solid where it counts, rough at the edges, and better with your feedback.

LumenUI is a focused, modern UI suite for Retail WoW, built for Mythic+ and Raid and tuned to healer standards. The idea behind it is simple: what reads well for a healer under pressure works for every role.

Most UI suites have grown into option jungles over the years — hundreds of switches the average player never touches. LumenUI goes the other way. It's anti-bloat: a short, curated module list with strong defaults instead of endless toggles. Only what serious M+ and raid players actually use — done properly.

Two worlds, kept apart on purpose

  • In combat — raidframes (and later unit frames & nameplates) stay close to the WoW original: class-colored bars, familiar layout, calm defaults. Under pressure your eyes pattern-match fastest on what they already know. This is the best version of the WoW look — not a foreign app bolted over your game.
  • In the suite — settings, profiles and branding live out their own modern identity: flat, warm, gold-accented. No generic neon.

What's in the Beta — Raidframes

A complete, healer-grade raidframe module:

  • WoW-native layout — class-colored health bars + role icons
  • Absorb / shield display, including overshield at full health
  • Heal prediction (incoming heals) and heal absorb (eats into your health from the right)
  • Dispellable debuffs highlighted, filtered to your class (Magic / Curse / Poison / Disease)
  • Aura indicators — a flexible system for HoTs, defensives & externals, and debuffs, with a per-spec whitelist curated for every class & spec, 9 anchor positions and auto-fit sizing. Combat-safe icons.
  • Aggro warning — two-stage (yellow/red), border and/or overlay, optional text, tanks excluded
  • Party + Raid, with sortable role / group ordering
  • Mouseover / target highlight (gold edge)
  • Click-to-Cast — full click-cast + hovercast with a curated action catalog (heals, externals, battle-rez, trinket); bindings saved per spec
  • Hides Blizzard's default raidframes while active — one click to restore
  • Free positioning via WoW's Edit Mode

The suite

  • One settings home — open with /lumen or the Lumen button in the ESC menu
  • Central profiles — everything in one place
  • Share your setup — export your whole config as a single text code, like WeakAuras. Import is granular: tick exactly which modules to take, with a separate yes/no for layout positions. Want someone's unit frames but not their raidframes? Easy.
  • English & German built in

Built for performance

LumenUI is written for WoW 12.0: secret-safe rendering, event-driven updates (no frame-by-frame polling), pooled frames, no garbage in hot paths. It's meant to stay light in the most demanding pulls.

On the roadmap (not in yet)

Module by module, no bloat: Unit Frames → Nameplates → quality-of-life (M+ loot preview, CC tracker, context quick-actions). Encounter callouts and niche tools are intentionally out of scope.

Getting started

  • /lumen — open the suite (aliases: /lu, /lumenui)
  • or use the Lumen button in the ESC menu

Feedback

This is a Beta, and your reports shape where it goes next — screenshots and details are hugely welcome. Thanks for testing LumenUI! ✨
