Loss of Control 3

Loss of Control 3 is a lightweight and customizable World of Warcraft addon designed to provide a clean, minimal alternative to Blizzard's default Loss of Control display.

The addon displays the currently active Loss of Control effect on your character using a customizable icon and cooldown timer, while giving you control over which Diminishing Returns categories should be displayed.

The goal is simple: show only the information you need, exactly where you want it, without unnecessary elements on your screen.

Features

Clean Loss of Control Display

• Displays the current Loss of Control effect using its corresponding icon.
• Displays the remaining duration through a Blizzard-style cooldown timer.
• Automatically updates when a new Loss of Control effect is applied.
• Automatically hides when there is no active Loss of Control effect.
• Uses Blizzard's built-in C_LossOfControl system to retrieve the active effect.
• The default Blizzard Loss of Control frame is automatically hidden while the addon is active.

Diminishing Returns Filters

You can individually enable or disable the Loss of Control categories you want to see.

Available categories:

• Stun
• Incapacitate
• Disorient
• Silence
• Root
• Disarm
• Knockback

For example, if you only want to see Stuns, Roots and Incapacitates, you can disable all other categories.

This allows you to keep the display focused on the types of crowd control that are important to you.

Custom Icon Size

The icon size can be customized from:

8 – 120 pixels

This allows the addon to work for both minimal UI setups and players who prefer a larger, more visible Loss of Control indicator.

Custom Position

The Loss of Control icon can be positioned anywhere on the screen.

The addon provides:

• X coordinate control
• Y coordinate control
• Numeric X/Y input
• X/Y sliders
• Position reset
• Saved position between sessions

You can also move the test icon directly using the mouse.

Test Mode

A dedicated Test panel allows you to configure the position of the Loss of Control icon without waiting for an actual crowd-control effect.

Test Mode includes:

• Test icon preview
• X position slider
• Y position slider
• Numeric X/Y values
• Mouse-based positioning
• Reset X/Y option
• Preview of the cooldown animation

This makes it easy to find the exact position you want before entering combat.

Saved Settings

Your configuration is saved automatically between sessions.

The addon remembers:

• Icon size
• X position
• Y position
• Enabled/disabled DR categories

Configuration

Use:

/loc3

or:

/losscontrol

You can also use:

/loc3 config

Available commands:

/loc3
Open the configuration window.

/loc3 test
Open the Test panel.

/loc3 reset
Reset the addon settings to their defaults.

Minimal & Lightweight

Loss of Control 3 is designed to remain simple and lightweight.

There are:

• No spell databases
• No individual spell selection system
• No unnecessary combat information
• No additional UI panels
• No external dependencies

The addon focuses exclusively on displaying your current Loss of Control effect and providing the configuration options necessary to customize it.

Designed for PvP

The addon is particularly useful for players who want a clean Loss of Control indicator while playing PvP.

Instead of relying on the default Blizzard Loss of Control frame, you can place the icon exactly where you want it and decide which DR categories are relevant to your UI.

This can help keep important crowd-control information visible without adding unnecessary elements to the screen.

Default Settings

The default configuration includes all available DR categories:

• Stun
• Incapacitate
• Disorient

Default icon size:

40 × 40 pixels

Default position:

X: 0 / Y: 0

All settings can be changed through the configuration window.
