Lore Forever 0.21.0
What's new
Willo talks about what's in front of you: asked about "these statues" in Loch Modan, she and the dwarves there tell of the Valley of Kings, not Stormwind's. She also knows better what human racials do.
Willo's glowing wisp in the panel: until you have Willo, a small icon beside Journey says what she could tell you about the page you're on. Click it for the link to get her; Options can hide it.
Willo's new voices: on Champion and Legend she has a man's voice to pair with each of her five, and a new "Voices of Azeroth" group, a man's and a woman's voice for each of 11 peoples from dwarf to troll. Characters she talks to keep their own.
Willo knows herself better: she tells you how to hide or close her (she's her own app, not the add-on), what "choose a character" means and how to fix it, and she always stays your traveling wisp.
Willo asks again instead of guessing: a question cut off mid-sentence gets a quick "say it again?", and the rest you say next finishes it. She also catches names her ears mishear, like "the device" for the Defias.
Willo knows more of what Forever changed for classes: she looks up builds, specs, talents and roles when she isn't sure, and knows Enhancement shamans can tank small groups.
Willo hears the first question after a quiet spell: it used to get lost while her ears woke up. She also no longer gives a person the job of someone standing nearby.
Willo's voice stays clean through loading screens: it could buzz while the game loaded a new zone.
Willo keeps to this age in follow-up questions too: asked about Edwin VanCleef's daughter, she says Vanessa is still a child, never what happens years later.
Pick Willo's color: in Settings, give her light your class's color (warlock purple, druid orange, ...), a lore light like fel green or holy gold, or any color you like. She wears it over the game, in her window and on stream.
Reports on recordings close the loop: My contributions says when a line you reported was fixed and in which version, and narrators of player voices see the lines reported in their voice, closed by their next take.
Get credited your way: Willo's settings take an optional name for the Forever text she shares for you (anonymous until you type one), and each version's thanks now name its translators too.
Your contributions tell the truth: translators see whether each edit is in the language or not used and why, shared text no longer promises the next update, and Willo says "Noted" for a wrong answer only once it reached us.
Shared text and translations: a held line now goes in once a second player sends it too, ordinary text is no longer mistaken for a web link, and translators keep the words of an edit that wasn't used, with the reason.
Willo's shared text is yours to see: when Willo is connected to your account, the Forever text she shares for you shows under My contributions, privately. Only the credit name you choose is ever shown publicly.
My contributions: your account page now shows everything you sent (translations, shared text, voices and reports on recordings) and what became of each: shipped in which version, still waiting and for what, or not used and why.
Narrators hear back: the upload page says when your voice was reviewed or why it wasn't used, a lent voice we can't make says why and takes a new recording, and a zone you recorded but never sent no longer stays locked.
On a Mac, the copy boxes now say Cmd+C instead of Ctrl+C.
Fresher narration: about 180 stories per narrator were recorded again to match the current lore, among them the Goldshire and Mosshide fixes and the Horde-side Onyxia, and about 420 quest readouts per narrator are new or fresh. The male narrator now has a deeper, steadier voice for these first stories.
Corrected lore in 5 entries.
Your friends' week: friends who share where they are also show their guild and what they did this week. Ask Willo "what did my friends do this week?" or "what's my guild up to?".
Your link makes friends: Willo's Friends tab shows your link to copy; a friend who opens it, or joined Willo with it, can add you in one click.
