What's new

A new interface, a safety check before every loot session, and automatic logging of normal WoW loot rolls when Loothing is not running the council. This release also fixes a large set of issues found in a full audit of communication, council voting, trading and history.

Raid readiness and session safety checks

  • Before a loot session starts, Loothing checks the raid: who has the addon, which versions they run, and whether everyone agrees on the Master Looter, the council, the observers and the loot settings. Problems are named player by player.
  • Disagreements block the session until they are fixed. Loothing first re-sends its settings automatically, and the ML can still start anyway with /lt preflight force <reason>. Forced starts are logged and shown to the raid.
  • When the raid leader enters a raid, the "Use Loothing for this raid?" prompt now shows the readiness result and has a "Don't ask again" option. After you accept, missing addons and outdated versions show as warnings instead of blocking.
  • New Raid readiness window: open it from the Roster tab or with /lt readiness. /lt preflight runs a check, shows the last result or the log, and manages overrides.

Passive mode: vanilla roll logging

  • When Loothing is not handling loot for your group, it now records normal WoW Need/Greed/Transmog roll results in your History, including every player's roll. Force it with /lt mode passive; /lt mode council switches back.
  • Vanilla roll wins count as awards in your statistics. They have their own history cap, so they never push council awards out.
  • The Loothing desktop app uploads them to the website, where the loot detail page shows the full roll table. Only wins by your own guild's members are kept; wins by players from outside the guild are not stored.

New interface

  • Redesigned windows, settings and popups with a consistent dark theme, clearer layering and a choice of accent colours and density.
  • The settings window has searchable categories and grouped options. Text fields keep focus while you type, and switching pages no longer freezes or crashes the game.

Fixes

  • Council and voting: skipped items can be re-awarded reliably; revotes clear stale ballots for everyone; votes from players who left the council no longer count; ties are broken consistently; responses sent during long pulls are no longer lost.
  • Master Looter and raid leadership: players who join late or reload accept an assigned non-leader ML; stopping or restarting loot handling keeps the assigned ML; raid assistants can no longer take over as ML without being assigned.
  • Cross-realm groups: cross-realm party members' responses are accepted and they stay on the council.
  • Communication: large syncs complete instead of timing out; messages queued during encounters and Mythic+ restrictions are delivered in order once restrictions clear.
  • History: guild members can no longer edit or remove other players' loot history; ballots and notes are no longer shared in history broadcasts; personal-loot logging only records relevant items and no longer evicts council awards; imported history older than your history age limit is skipped with a notice.
  • Trading and auto-award: each character keeps its own trade queue; unbound BoE awards no longer show expiry warnings; trades are only blocked while an item is being voted on; auto-award defaults to Rare and only awards equippable items.
  • Auto-pass: raiders no longer auto-pass when the ML is offline or out of the instance; trinket auto-pass considers every spec of your class; the ML's auto-pass settings no longer overwrite raiders' own.
