What's new

Changelog

Notable changes to LootToastMover. The format follows Keep a Changelog.

[4.15.1] - 2026-10-13

Changed

  • Updated for patch 12.1.5, so the game does not flag the addon as out of date. Regions that patch later in the week keep loading it on 12.1.0 until they update.

[4.15.0] - 2026-10-13

Added

  • Help translate LootToastMover. Any translation can now be improved on CurseForge, through the project's Localization page, and every release includes what translators have written there. Until someone improves a string, you see the same translation as before.

Changed

  • The text on the anchor box now breaks after "Drag me." in every language, instead of in the middle of the second sentence.

[4.14.0] - 2026-10-13

Added

  • LootToastMover now speaks your language. The anchor box, the tooltips, the options panel and the chat messages follow your game client's language: German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Korean, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese, as well as English. The description in the in-game addon list is translated too, and the options panel's buttons widen to fit a longer translation.
  • Slash commands stay the same in every language, so /ltm test and the rest work exactly as before.
  • These translations are first drafts, not written by native speakers. If something reads awkwardly in your language, suggest a better wording on GitHub.

[4.13.0] - 2026-10-12

Added

  • Now loads in every version of World of Warcraft that Blizzard runs. Alongside retail and Forever, the same download now covers Mists of Pandaria Classic, Classic Era, TBC Anniversary and Titan Reforged Classic. The anchor box, /ltm test, the minimap button, the options panel and the broker plugin all work the same in each of them, and nothing changes for retail or Forever players.
  • The Classic games send far fewer alerts through the frame this addon moves. Loot never goes through it there, so what the anchor moves is mostly achievement toasts, in the games that have achievements. Classic Era has none, so very little appears there at all. /ltm test fires a real loot toast in every game, so you can always check the position.
  • The Addon Compartment only exists in retail and Forever. In the Classic games, use the minimap button, the options panel or /ltm.

[4.12.0] - 2026-10-02

Added

  • Now also loads in World of Warcraft: Forever. One download covers both games. Forever runs on the retail game client, so the addon itself needed no changes to work there: the anchor box, /ltm test, the minimap button, the options panel, the broker plugin and the Addon Compartment are all the same as in retail. Nothing changes for retail players.
  • Installing by hand for the Forever beta? The folder is World of Warcraft/_classic_beta_/Interface/AddOns/.

[4.11.2] - 2026-09-15

Fixed

  • Opening the options panel threw a Lua error instead of opening anything. Every route in was affected: right-clicking the minimap button, right-clicking the broker plugin, right-clicking the Addon Compartment entry, and /ltm config. The options panel itself was fine and always had been — nothing could reach it. Introduced in 4.11.0.
  • If a future game patch changes that call again, the addon now says so in chat rather than throwing an error popup, and the slash commands keep working.

[4.11.1] - 2026-09-14

Changed

  • LootToastMover is now explicitly MIT licensed, and the licence ships with the addon.

[4.11.0] - 2026-09-13

You can actually find the addon now. 4.9.0 left Blizzard's Addon Compartment as the only way in, which meant an installed addon looked like a missing one. Three ways back, and still with no bundled libraries.

Added

  • The minimap button is back — the bag icon on the minimap ring. Left-click shows or hides the anchor box, right-click opens the options panel, and you can drag it anywhere around the ring. Hide it from the options panel or with /ltm minimap.
  • An options panel, under Game Menu → Options → AddOns → LootToastMover, with buttons for everything the slash commands do. /ltm config opens it directly.
  • The broker plugin is back. If you use Titan Panel, Bazooka, ChocolateBar, ElvUI datatexts or any other broker display, LootToastMover appears in its plugin list again. This was removed in 4.9.0 along with the libraries and should not have been.
  • /ltm as a short alias for /loottoastpos, plus /ltm config and /ltm minimap.

Changed

  • The minimap button is written against the game's own widget API rather than LibDBIcon, and the broker plugin uses the LibDataBroker your broker display already loads, so the addon is still a single file with no third-party dependencies.

[4.10.0] - 2026-09-12

Added

  • /loottoastpos test shows a sample loot toast, so you can check placement without waiting for a drop.

Changed

  • The anchor box is now the real thing. It matches the exact size of a loot toast (276×96) and sits exactly where the first toast will appear, with later toasts stacking upward from it. Previously the box was a 260×60 placeholder and the first toast actually landed 31 pixels below it, so what you dragged was not where toasts went.
  • Your saved position is adjusted automatically the first time you log in, so toasts stay exactly where you had them. Nothing to redo.

[4.9.0] - 2026-09-12

Changed

  • The minimap button is replaced by Blizzard's Addon Compartment — the addon-list button next to the minimap. Click the LootToastMover entry there to show or hide the anchor box, as before.

Removed

  • All four bundled libraries: LibStub, CallbackHandler-1.0, LibDataBroker-1.1 and LibDBIcon-1.0. They were carried solely to provide the minimap button, which the game now does natively. The addon is a single Lua file with no third-party dependencies.
  • The unused minimap entry the old button left behind in your saved variables is cleared when you upgrade.

If you use a broker display such as Titan Panel or ChocolateBar, LootToastMover no longer appears in it, because the LibDataBroker object went with the libraries. Use the Addon Compartment or /loottoastpos instead.

[4.8.4] - 2026-09-11

Fixed

  • The addon could fail to load at all. Its own file was listed before its libraries, so it reached for LibStub before LibStub existed and errored out, unless some other addon happened to load LibStub first.
  • /loottoastpos threw a Lua error every time it was used, because it called an API that Blizzard removed during the 11.x cycle.
  • The minimap button's position was never remembered between sessions.
  • /loottoastpos reset wiped the minimap button's settings along with the anchor position.
  • /loottoastpos reset typed with extra spaces silently toggled the anchor instead of resetting it.
  • A one-second repeating timer kept running for the entire play session.

Changed

  • Updated for patch 12.1 (Interface 120100). Earlier builds targeted 11.1.5, which a 12.x client will not load.
  • An unrecognised slash command now prints usage instead of doing nothing.

[4.8.3]

The last build before the above, and the baseline for this changelog.
